What comes to mind when you think of Louisiana?

I began to be grossed out about the state when, on No Reservations, I found out the people have outdoor parties that consist of dragging a huge turtle out of the road and proceed to do dreadful things to it before cutting it up to make turtle stew while the guys play fiddles while drinking beer. Then they shoot a pig in the head, put it in a tub of boiling water so they can shave off it’s hair more easily before butchering it also. I can’t bare the thought of any of it. Of course, many people don’t do this, I’m sure. They don’t attend these outdoor gatherings.
So what are your fascinating thoughts about the state?
