Movie fans, how do you feel about JJ Abrams directing the next Star Wars movie?
JJ Abrams is set to direct the next Star Wars movie. Mr. Abrams was the man behind successful TV series, Alias, Felicity and Lost. He also directed a Mission Impossible film and the two latest Star Trek movies

Torn. He ruined Star Trek, but then again, he is still better than George Lucas.
I don’t intend watching it whoever directs it, leave well alone & don’t make anymore.
Wouldn’t take much to ruin Star Trek, never been into that shite.
@Rarebear
He did ruin Star Trek, on the same level as Rick Berman (Fuck you, Rick Berman!).
He turned the original characters into caricatures. Kirk is an arrogant asshole, Spock is an arrogant asshole, Uhura is a whore.
The so called villain was a shallow joke without any actual motivation to do what he did (in fact, Nero is a worse villain than Shinzon).
The entire plot rests on one massive plot convenience (and as Plinkett accurately states “plot convenience equals movie sucks”).
Spock dumps kirk out of an airlock instead of putting him in the brig.
He lands on a planet where he just so happens to find old Spock.
Then, on the same planet, they just happen to meet Scotty.
Who just happens to have a transporter capable of transporting over light years onto a target moving at warp speed.
This right there is a big ‘fuck you’ to the audience.
And last but not least, the design of the new Enterprise is just completely and utterly atrocious and hideous.
Yeah, Rick Berman, fuck you! : )
First Jar-jar, now lens flare everywhere.
The nice thing is that, after the prequels, about the only way to make the franchise worse would be to dig up Ed Wood and give him the director’s chair. In that light, JJ isn’t a terrible choice.
It can’t possibly suck as badly as the last three did.
Well, yeah, but it didn’t put me to sleep like the previous 3 Star Trek movies did.
I have never understood why people hate Rick Berman so much. Are Berman haters just so in love with the original that they don’t want to see any re-imagining of the series?
Thrilled. He turned me on to Star Trek, and, he is better than George Lucas.
He’s working for Disney, so expect the movie to be back story for a ride in Tomorrowland.
But the franchise is pretty much dead, Lucas has nothing more to explore in terms of the story arc. Sounds like a waste of money all around.
