Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for me nothing will ever top my mom’s apple pie and ice cream….the thought of it and I literally salivate.
I love pecan pie, especially chocolate pecan pie. There used to be a place I could get absolutely fabulous chocolate pecan pie, but they stopped being in my circle of being. I don’t know what happened to them. But I haven’t had the good stuff in years.
Thank you!
My new favorite desert is sweet potato crumble (a version of apple crisp with sweet potatoes gluten free rolled oats cinnamon allspice apple juice and chunks raisin’s and is divine.
Pair that with almond dream vanilla ice cream… Melt in your mouth fun.
On the other hand Mango sorbet with slivered almonds.
Or maybe instead of mango, lemon.
Yum hungry now.
Peach, apple or pear cobbler in a dutch oven over a campfire.
Lemon bars; tres leches cake; flan; peach or blackberrry cobbler; strawberry shortcake; chocolate pie; buttermilk pie; lemon chess pie; most fruit pies; most cheesecakes; most cakes that aren’t “over the top” in their chocolatiness. And probably several more that I’m forgetting.
Molten chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, marachino cherry.
Drool…
Apple crumble and custard is pretty hard to beat.
Haha, i’m sensing orgasmic vibes & that’s just the blokes!
Chocolate mousse with julienned orange rind marinated in Grand Marnier. The absolute best!
Parfaits and mint chocolate chip ice-cream!
Mmmmm
Vanilla ice cream covered with hot butterscotch, blackberry cobbler with heavy cream, cheesecake, and warm apple pie topped with sharp ceddar.
I like them individually too. ;-)
coconut cake
Smith Island cake
fruit ice cream like strawberry or peach or black raspberry
My tastes have gotten radically simpler over the years. I used to like very complex pastries with lots of flavor jazz going on, but now I prefer less fuss.
Creme brulee and its variants suite me just fine.
I also make a killer caramel sauce; slices of tart apple dipped in that are orgasmically good.
Flourless Chocolate Cake like THIS.
Rhubarb crumble – and let’s not have any crumbling about it.
@ucme, I have no recipes to contribute, but I’m now hearing Ant and Dec in my head. I have that song on my MP3 player in the car. :) get ready, get steady and crumble, everybody crumble!
Nothing. Sorry to be so dreary, but I don’t have a sweet tooth. I’m a salty-greasy fan. I’ve yet to meet a potato chip that I haven’t wanted to marry, but I’m not the least bit tempted by dessert.
Strawberries are in season here in Florida. For Sunday dessert, I made a trifle with homemade angel food cake and tore it into bite-sized pieces layering it with alternating heaps of fresh strawberries, blueberries and heavy whipping cream beaten into a sweet whipped topping. Sooo good.
My mother’s almond torte. My all time favorite cake. That and berry crumble and berry pies, hot, with vanilla ice cream.
Guinness chocolate cake, Haagen Daz strawberry ice cream, Mom’s banana pudding, homemade rice crispy treats, warm chocolate chip cookies with milk, or authentic Italian cannoli.
Well, my favorite dessert is fruit salad. Preferably containing mangoes or pineapples that I have grown myself.
My favorite baked dessert is gâteau normand.
not to be confused with the Norman tart whom I would gladly… oh, nevermind.
Zebra domes. They can only be found here at these two restaurants. Not only are they delicious but they’re also zebra-friendly (no zebras are harmed in the making of zebra domes) ~
Now that was a tasty thread, food based on it’s own merits right from the get go, good stuff.
I’m not much of a sweet tooth myself, but I love ice-cream when the fancy takes hold, raspberry ripple, nom.
@diavolobella Oh you nasty bunny, i’ll have that bloody tune in my head all day now…cheers :¬(
@ragingloli Try shutting your gobi next time, works for me!

This reminds me of one of my favorite Fluther answers of mine from years ago. I am so proud of it, I will cite it again.
The question was something like, “What implement would you most want to have on a dessert (sic) island?’
My answer was, “A fork.”
I too am one of the few that prefers savory over sweet, but on occasion I do like the following:
Pumpkin anything. Pumpkin bars, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread
Lemon bundt cakes with lemon glaze
Peanutbutter cookies
Gingerbread, both the cake and the flat cookies
Pies: blueberry, boysenberry, coconut cream, pecan, pumpkin and key lime
Brownies with walnuts (but only if they do not have frosting on them, yick for frosting!)
German chocolate cake (but not regular chocolate, because it’s way too sweet)
Macaroons
Cannoli
Banana bread
Pineapple upside down cake
Strawberry shortcake
Rum cake
Ice cream flavors: strawberry, Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey, spumoni
Kheer (Indian rice pudding with rosewater, pistachios and cardamom)
Date cake
Cinnamon rolls (which I am making today!)
Butterscotch pudding
Panna cotta
Oh man…I have a very specific dessert orgasm index! It needs to have lots of butter, or cream, or caramel. So I love Creme Brulee, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Sticky Buns, Tiramisu, Pecan Pie….you get the picture!
@Earthgirl I do get the picture, but if it includes your orgasm, where the hell do I hang it? ;¬}
Cheers folks, good stuff!
@ucme lol…..funny how after the word orgasm was out, the word sticky kept suggesting itself
thank you for not mentioning the butter…....
