Which edition of the Lord of the Rings book makes for a good collectible?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29227points) February 9th, 2013

No doubt the original publication would cost serious money to acquire but just wondering whether there could be other editions that are not so impossible to purchase yet still of somewhat interesting significance. Thanks.

Any of them that don’t have some screenshot of the movies on the cover. XD

No idea, but look here.

I don’t have it anymore, but I used to have the first book they show in that blog. Found it in an abandoned house. I wonder if it’s worth something? Look at the cover, 95 cents heh. But when I found the book it was so bent out of shape and messed up, probably lost most of its worth.

First edition is the best edition. Pre-WWII English printing would be worth more than a USA copy from the 1960’s or 1970’s.

You’re too late. Don’t bother.
