There are tons of films and television programs that take place in a courtroom from A Few Good Men to Perry Mason. Which is your favorite courtroom movie/show?

I was a big fan of The Practice with Dillon McDermitt. It was written and directed by David E. Kelly who also did Ally McBeal and Boston Legal.

Unlike those shows, The Practice had no comedy or surreal elements – it was dead serious. Also took place in Boston.

Great show.

Al Pacino’s “And Justice For All” is one top favorite. Dave Grusin’s 80’s music felt so good.
Another aye on The Practice. Didn’t hurt that Kelli Williams was just cute as a button.
A Few Good Men
The Verdict
Inherit the Wind ( the great Spencer Tracey )
The Accused

Love Boston Legal. I won’t lie, I’m utterly in love with James Spader.

It’s probably the only courtroom show I’ve ever enjoyed.

Twelve Angry Men is certainly one of ‘em. I discover something new every time I watch it, which is at least once a year. This is the Fonda version, but the 1997 remake is excellent, too.

Ally McBeal and Picket Fences were my favorite television shows that involved the courtroom.

In the Name of the Father tops my list for favorite movie.

@cookieman So, so much. Oh, yes.
I’m also a sub, so you can imagine…

The OP’s examples come to mind.

@jonsblond I forgot all about Picket Fences, I loved that show. Don Cheadle was amazing in that. i like pretty much every David Kelly legal drama and my favorite was probably The Practice. When I was on a jury, after the case, the attorneys asked what we jurors thought they did right and what they did wrong. I pointed out to the prosecutor that he really needed to button his suit coat when he got up to speak because that’s what every single lawyer on a David Kelly show does.

And the obscure, but not courtroom – Twin Peaks was my favorite.

I very much liked Made in New Jersey and thought the network was way too hasty cancelling to so early. Also I second Boston Legal. The courtroom scenes were great.

@blueiiznh Say what? There were only like two courtroom scenes in the show: Leland’s hearing for Jacques Renault’s murder, and one other I can’t bring to mind at the moment. If we’re expanding the discussion to include police procedural dramas, say the word and I’ll continue the list with Dragnet and Adam-12.

Edit: I think I remembered the other scene; it was where they ordered the Black Yukon Sucker Punch. Also I see that rather than replying, you have edited your comment. Fair enough :)

@wildpotato if you read my answer, I corrected before your rant and added “not courtroom”

I’m not usually a fan of courtroom dramas but as I enjoy watching these films’ lead actresses I watched and enjoyed both Nuts and Suspect.
