Is the University of Arizona known for it's physics programs?

The University of Arizona came up with the Impact Effects Calculator that predicts the damage from an asteroid impacting Earth. It is now hosted elsewhere but 10 years ago it was considered really advanced. It is still a useful tool.
If you like astronomy this is one of the better places to be.
