Don't you wish there were more questions being asked on Fluther?

Asked by janbb (63219points) February 28th, 2013

I’m in a very down phase in RL and when that happens, I tend to look for more stimulation from the intenet and particularly Fluther. I know we have slower and more active times, but it seems like very few questions are coming up. Not blaming anyone, just sad. And I do try to ask questions myself but I won’t make up questions just to ask three a day; they have to be real concerns.

Dontcha wish your boyfriend was hot like me…dontcha?
Song titles that are questions…no, oh okay then.

Yes, and I feel we all have to do our part to ask them.

Yes, I am in a down phase too and need the distraction.
@janbb Hang in there…hey, feel free to trade lives with me right now. lol
Maybe I should put out an APB for Marwyn….any jelly want to adopt a handsome and smart goose?

I’m in the dumps too for some reason and I don’t know why, but do you want me asking downer questions?

Yes I do wish.

The last week has been extremely stressful and my husband has already moved to another state, and some very interesting fluther questions and conversation would be very appreciated right now.

Yes, more questions would be wonderful! I’ve noticed how few there seem to be these days, which is why I’ve tried to ask a few myself.

I’m so sorry that many of you are down. I’m not good at asking questions here, but I shall face my fears and fire off a couple of queries.

I’ve noticed the dearth of questions lately, too. I encourage people to ask whatever question is on their mind. I don’t care if we’ve heard it 100 times before. It’s still different because you are asking it now. And if there’s anything jellies like to do, it’s to be helpful. And funny. They are a caring bunch and will bend over backwards to help people feel better.

It doesn’t help matters that some are particularly selective as to whose questions they care to answer.

It’s funny @janbb, I have been mind-blowingly busy for the past few weeks and I’ve felt as if there are far too many new questions on here for me to keep up with. I’ve definitely seen a new influx of Jellies recently.

I feel very badly for all of the jellies that are down. I wish I could help.

I do wish! Hugs for everyone who is down in the dumps. <3

We are definitely going through a quiet patch. Infact, today has been the busiest day for me (answering wise) for quite a while now.

Huh and my just for you page was overwhelming this week.. Maybe because I felt overwhelmed. But on the positive I got many a lovely notes.

I asked questions and then felt guilty because it took me so long to respond to everyone.

It does seem like people are down. I hope it will quickly pass.

Yes, yes, yes….!!!!
I am guilty of not asking half of the good questions I have. How about everyone else? I see lots of people checking in every day but not writing answers or questions. Like I said, I am guilty as charged. My excuse is that I don’t have time. I fluther in transit quite often and that is prone to many interruptions and time constraints. What are the reasons that you yourself, fellow flutherers, have for not asking more questions? I often wonder about the people who seem to be here frequently that I don’t see writing. There are some people I would love to hear more from….then there are people who contribute a lot. Fluther depends on them. They are its lifeblood.

I know as I’ve said before, I tend to ask questions only when I really want an answer or to provoke a discussion – not just to ask. And I guess I’ve read so many of the religious and political questions that I’m not that engaged with them any more. I do still answer a lot if there are questions being asked.

Earthgirl's avatar

Yes @janbb you do answer a lot which is great. I think about some of the questions I read here and then go off in tangents sometimes and never have time to write a proper answer. Other times I think no one really wants to go into the question in depth, they are looking for a “sound bite” answer. I like fluther because it stimulates my mind. It makes me go search for more info and knowledge to answer the questions. It leads me in unexpected directions. That is all to the good. If I had more time I would ask more questions and contribute more, but sadly, I do not. I feel bad to ask a question and then not to follow up on it and thank people and reply to people properly. That’s why I don’t ask more questions. I have tons of good questions in me though. :)

I believe you @Earthgirl. You have very good answers so I figure your questions would prove just as delightful.

I wonder sometimes… Every so often I think about asking a question and then think about my schedule myself… Rethink the idea and try to “save” the idea for the future.

Maybe if we put in the OP that due to business and desire to give the conversation the time it deserves you will not be able to respond to everyone right away.

If time is the issue holding us back well then move the deadline?

It’s a shame to think of good questions go to waste and other people benefit as well.
