What movie or show will you be watching this weekend?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29220points) March 8th, 2013

I have this movie Cosmopolis starring Robert Pattinson from Netflix and I was thinking maybe a dose of Doc Martin as well. I’ve started watching it thanks to some Flutherites mentioning it. : )

I’m currently watching the King of the Hill episodes, I’m up to season 8. Except recently, I’ve had this craving to check out an old classic, Zombi Holocaust. I’m probably gonna do that this weekend.
It’s not a traditional zombie movie as we understand them, but it plays closer to the actual myth of zombies…more or less. As in, reanimating the dead. But no people eating. Well…this movie deals with a cannibal tribe. They eat people. Lol.

Here’s a trailer with all the best parts lol.

Season six of a long-running British Mysery series called Midsomer Murders. Some of the most beautiful English villages, countryside, falcons, trout, horses, dogs, farms, copses, becks, gills and spectacular cottage gardens. Plus a panoply of who’s been who in the British acting community for the past 15 years.

On Sundays, I sometimes watch The Amazing Race for some comic relief.

@Symbeline What the…that was sick-! Lol

My weekends are spent watching sport, i’m off to the match tomorrow with the lads.
Probably catch a blu-ray with the kids later on though, maybe Ted again or we might just pwn some noobs together on Xbox Live…weekends are awesome.

@mazingerz88 Yeah lol. I saw that as a kid and it freaked me out. Years later I wanted to see it again, but I couldn’t remember the title. I asked on here and got my answer haha.

I wonder if my subconscious DIDN’T want me to remember the title…XD

We are going to the theatre to see a movie. Either Identity Thief or Dark Skies.

@gailcalled I lurve Midsomer Murders. I’m scared to watch the Barnaby-less season. I mean, I like his brother’s character and all, but I will miss the good ol’ guy.

This weekend, I will be working my corseted arse off, talking in a fake pirate accent for Buccaneer Beer Fest weekend at the Renaissance Festival. I’ll take a break from strapping young lads into leather armour to watch my favourite travelling magic show: Bunnies in Peril.

@gailcalled
I was in that area in England (Oxfordshire) a couple of years back and I couldn’t help myself looking for murder scenes.

It is a truly beautiful area, but wow… With as little residents, Midsomer sure has a lot of killing going on. Makes any American big city look like paradise. I believe the crime rates are double those of London.

janbb's avatar

@gailcalled I have to check it out.

Seek's avatar

@whitenoise If you do the math, throughout the course of the show they’ve replaced every resident of Midsomer County at least once. Same goes for the population of the original Starship Enterprise.

gailcalled's avatar

^^^Beware. it has run for twenty seasons.

@Symbeline : When does John Nettles as Tom Barnaby leave the series? Did you know that his wife, Joan, was put-upon Morwenna Cheonwyth for several seasons of Poldark?

Seek's avatar

I did not know that!

Just this most recent season – It may be still running? His brother, John, is now the DCI.

@mazingerz88 : I’ve heard about Doc Martin, never watched it. Should I? :)

Local Hero (possibly)

At least one rerun of Adam 12.

For those who are thinking of watching Doc Martin, be sure to see the episodes in order. There are many long story arcs, particularly the on-again, off-again romance between the Doc and the schoolmarm, Louisa.

I loved the serials; not every does.

A fluther friend whose opinion I always respect did not enjoy the Doc’s often waspish and mean-spirited personality.

Ted and The Dictator. Which movie should I watch first?

Walking Dead.

I think I will finally get around to seeing TheRoad.

I am hoping we can watch The Intouchables. We are also considering starting to watch either Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, or Weeds on NetFlix. Any other ideas for series on Nefflix are welcome!

augustlan's avatar

I’ll be watching Walking Dead, too. Not with @Rarebear, though.

Plucky's avatar

We will be watching Walking Dead too ..also Once Upon a Time.

mazingerz88's avatar

@longgone Yes. Try the pilot episode. Might do the trick for you. Their location is gorgeous-!

jonsblond's avatar

Tonight I will be watching SNL with Justin Timberlake as musical guest and host. It’s always a good show when Timberlake is on. Looking forward to some good laughs tonight!

Dutchess_III's avatar

What is UP with The Walking Dead @Rarebear???!!! You, of all people, should know that it isn’t possible for dead people to walk, Doc!

Going to some friend’s house. Watching The World’s Fastest Indian and Cool Runnings. They’re both true stories about Walking Living People. Except John Candy is dead now. But he wasn’t dead in the movie. And neither was Anthony Hopkins in Fastest Indian. Although Anthony Hopkins is playing a real life character, Burt Munro, who was dead when the movie was made. But he wasn’t dead when he set the world land speed record on an old Indian. Not an old American Indian. An old motorcycle Indian. If I loved motorcycles, which I don’t, an Indian motorcycle would be my favorite. But I don’t like motorcycles. They turn people into The Regular Dead too easy. But it’s a good movie.

longgone's avatar

Okay, I’ll check it out!

I went to see The Guilt Trip yesterday. As a huge Barbra Streisand fan I was in heaven!

I will not be viewing the documentary about Hizzoner, Ed Koch (three-term mayor of NYC) today. However, I will sell tickets at the box office and then leave…tonight I will try to spot comet PanSTARR.

Saw “Oz” yesterday with some sea life. Eminently skippable.

How are the ice floe and sea life fauna getting along?

janbb's avatar

They had a lovely time together exploring the Jersey Shore.
