Can you keep lobsters as pets?
What are the things needed for me to keep them alive-? I guess I made a mistake of buying two live lobsters for the first time and now I’m wondering whether I could set-up my aquarium again and just cook them after they die of old age.

If they die of old age I’m guessing they won’t be that good. If you have a tank with a heater and a filter they should be good.
^^Good point. On dying old and not tasting good. : )
@mazingerz88 I’m just wondering what old pussy tastes like. I’m very bad tonight.
^^ I love oysters, so I should be happy in old age.
NSFW-! Ah, optimism-! Love it-! ( happy slurping then-! )
I might be mistaken but I don’t think lobsters need heat. I think they need cold water (i.e. Maine bottom of the ocean-type temperatures).
Ok, so this is just weird. From a few minutes being in the fridge, I took the live lobster out and submerged it in room temperature water in a pot. He was alive, moving. Still toying with the silly idea of keeping it as a pet/friend.
After a few minutes, I checked and I would swear he was dead. No movement, legs all limp.
I then put him back to the fridge for cooking later. Two hours later, he was moving…alive-! So I put him back in the fridge. I’m now wondering whether he’s still alive. It’s been another two hours…
Lobsters need saltwater (at the same salinity as seawater). If you put it in fresh water, it will die. You’ll need a marine aquarium.
What do you feed lobsters?
