John McAfee, the computer security guy, now a fugitive wanted on drug charges & possibly murder.
I’m talking about people who aren’t violent
@College_girl How are you defining psychopath for the purpose of this question? It seems to me that if corporations are evaluated as if they were people, then they would all be classified as psychopaths. Do we expect empathic behaviour from corporations? And, by extension, do we expect corporations to be run in such a way that they show compassion for people (by which I guess you would mean consumers)? I think the exceptions would be those corporations that do show empathy or compassion for consumers.
Or are you looking for a list of psychopaths who happened to run corporations?
I think psychopath is too loaded a term to throw around lightly.
Charles G. and David H. Koch
@gasman I was in Belize when the cops raided his house the first time. They raided on suspicion of drugs/unregistered guns. Found no drugs and all the guns they found were registered. Still the papers mentioned that he was probably guilty and just hid everything. Couple months later he killed his neighbor.
George Soros and Michael Bloomberg are two that come to mind.
The question reminds me of this book, which I have not had a chance to read. According to the description, it says that psychopathy occurs along a spectrum. I previously asked here whether Mitt Romney’s serious empathy deficit could be caused by autism. Several people pointed out that autism would not apply and a few suggested psychopathy. I dismissed the thought that Romney might be a psychopath, but in view of the book’s thesis, I would say that seems to be a likely explanation.
Sallie mea , and any student loans people
I’d say any CEO who thinks shareholder value is more important than usefulness to society and satisfaction of customers and employees.
“Psychopathy is a personality disorder that has been variously characterized by shallow emotions (including reduced fear, a lack of empathy, and stress tolerance), coldheartedness, egocentricity, superficial charm, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity, criminality, antisocial behavior, a lack of remorse, and a parasitic lifestyle.”
