When my car goes in for routine service, do they wash it?

I bought my first new new car last September. Its first six-month maintenance appointment is coming up.
Do I take it to the car wash first so they can see I’m taking good care of my car, or is that just a waste because they’re going to wash it anyway?
Or does it matter (apart from a preference for having a clean car)?

The Ford dealer used to wash my car.
The Subaru dealer doesn’t.
I take a hose to mine to wipe off the excess mud but that’s it.
Yes, though not always. I’ve been a customer at the Nissan dealership for years.
A lot of the maintenance shops associated with dealers do wash the cars they service, in order to justify some of the high prices they charge – or at least in the hope that their customers will overlook the high cost because the car now not only works better (if it was in need of a fix), but looks better, too. I take my car to a local mechanic who services all makes and models, and all they do at that shop is fix the problem or perform the service that I’ve requested and paid for. (They do use paper floor mats to avoid tracking dirt into the car if they have to operate it, and that’s appreciated.)
Some places do, some don’t. My dealership used to wash it; then they said they had to stop because of “insurance regulations.”
Some dealerships do and some don’t. I’d call and ask.
The GM Chevy dealership here washes them. I figured it was either a courtesy or it made things easier for the mechanics to work on the car while reducing the chances of scratching the paint.
Either way it’s a nice touch.
My Honda dealership does not.
Wash your car before the service to show that you have style. Also no dealer ever washed my vehicles when they worked on them.
Oh… I just remembered. There is always a paper floor mat on the floor when they return it.
I leave it for a couple of days and then throw it out.
Do they leave it as a courtesy or proof that they protected my floor mat? Either way, I like it.
