What do you think would be the worst way to die?
My dad and I were having a discussion about this topic. I think most people want to die painlessly. But what do you think would be the most brutal. In my opinion, drowning seems like it would be terrifying. The idea of it really scares me. What do you think? Be creative.

Several I can think of right off the bat—including by fire or falling from a great height—and one that combines both those things and more—a plane crash! Lord I’m afraid of dying in a plane.
When I used to work with metal, there was a guy, who on his first day got pulled in to a grinding machine. He screamed for about 2 or 3 seconds, then went quiet while what was left of him got chopped up and spat out the other side of the machine.
Something like this would get my vote, the reason being, as soon as it happened, I looked at the mince flying out of the machine and knew instantly he was dead. The first thing that crossed my mind, was “that totally did not need to happen”. It was a careless and needless death, a big waste, avoidable, and therefore the worst.
If we are talking pain wise, then it would have to be getting tortured to death, as the process could be made to last for months or even years perhaps, and could involve a little of everything. It would all be down to the torturer’s imagination.
@Pachyderm_In_The_Room I don’t think a plane crash would be that bad because you would probably pass out because of the pressure before it hit the ground.
@Carinaponcho My other coworker did not seem to think so, about a minute after it happened, he turned to me and said “He did not last long his first day on the job” or something along those lines.
@poisonedantidote oh my goodness. I would have punched him in the face. There’s something wrong with him.
I don’t want to burn to death. Burns hurt so bad. I also almost froze to death. That sucks too but at least it doesn’t hurt. You go numb.
^Seriously, my father had 3rd degree burns on 80% of his body. He could still walk. You go into shock and can’t feel it. He told me the only way he knew he was burned was the smell and he thought it was somebody else.
I think starving would definitely be the worst. Yea burning would be agonizing but its still done rather quickly. Starving out over several weeks sounds like a fate worse than hell.
My friends grandmother was in Ukraine during Holodomor. She once told me a story about how her best friend came at her with a cleaver to try and kill her so that she could eat her. I could never imagine having to kill my best friend to save myself.
How about being cut into 5mm slices, one by one, from the toes upwards.
Drowning. Particularly if someone was holding you down under water. Someone you thought you could trust implicitly; someone you thought loved you.
Falling into the abyss that is @ragingloli‘s vagina, it’s so gigantic she uses a U-boat for a dildo :-(
I’ve nearly bled to death once. It was not an experience I’d like to repeat. But I can’t beat @poisonedantidote‘s answer. Holy schneikies.
A kid I went to elementary school with thought this out. He said the worst way to die would be to get hung upside down and then cut in half with a chainsaw. His reasoning was that you’d have all the pain from getting bisected but you couldn’t pass out if you were upside down. He said all the blood rushing to your head would keep you conscious. This was one sicko kid, but whenever someone asks this question—this is what I think of every single time.
@keobooks Never repeat that to a guy. We’re all curled up on the ground imaginging the first place the chainsaw hits. God that’s horrid.
I really think burning to death is a horrible way to die. That would get my vote. No doubt, there are a lot of horrible ways to die.
Alone without a hand to hold.
In a gas chamber is Auschwitz.
@Adagio That one struck me as the worst. I’ll file that one away and remember that.
Trapped in a plastic porta-potty on a 100 degree day.
@Coloma Could throw in an earthquake part way through. UGH
