Okay so my “part” has been hurting and I was curious as to if this was a period sign. Is it? If it is not, can you tell me what it is?
I am 15. I have not had my period yet.

Don’t be afraid to use the proper terms. “Part” is too vague and not really helpful.
Often the area around your vulva will ache a little. When your period arrives, you will have sensations in your uterus and cervix possibly, plus the soft tissue in the area, including the muscles and ligaments. They can be almost imperceptible.
Have you developed breasts, pubic hair and hair under your arms? Have you grown and developed a waist and hips? Those are the first steps. Your period should not be far behind.
If you are really concerned, talk to your mom. You cannot say anything to surprise her; she was once your age, of course and was probably too embarrassed to talk to her mother.
Are your breasts tender and sensitive? Are you achy in your lower abdomen? Also, what @gailcalled said is very helpful. If you haven’t developed some of the things that she described, then you might not be getting it just yet.
However, you say you are 15. I’m pretty sure that it should be coming any time now.
This may not be a sign that your period is imminent, but I do agree with those who say you are close to that point.
FYI, don’t be so quick to count males out of answering this question, we might happen to have men on this board who happen to be a doctors.
There’s also at least one man here (me!) who is a trans-man with 30 years experience of menstruation.
Personally I don’t recall ever experiencing that particular symptom but if you’ve had any of the other signs described above it could mean that it’s on its way.
Incidentally, being underweight can be a cause of delayed onset of menstruation. I was a late starter (almost 17) for that reason.
Part? It’s a vagina.
It may mean your period is coming, but maybe not. None of us here could possibly know that. Just wait it out, unless the pain is causing a problem. If that’s the case, see a doctor.
@gailcalled had a very good answer.
I get a slight aching sensation in my uterus before my period, that I only know to compare to when your bladder is very full.
Occasionally I get short stabbing pain in my vagina as well.
I don’t track my periods, but I almost always know when it’s coming because of my tender breasts and mood swings. Crying for no reason is a huge hint that your period is on it’s way. ;)
Feel free to describe where it is and what it feels like! We could help you better that way.
I find this question a little vague but I’ll try and answer as best as I can. However, a lot of other users have already summed up the process quite nicely.
My vagina felt strange before I started my period. Slight throbbing, aching, and a little bit of pain. It was mostly just discomfort, really. Nothing completely unbearable.
It was the stomach aches which got to me (I realise now it was pain in my uterus). The pain, for me, was horrific! I didn’t quite catch on that perhaps my period was looming, but when I told my mum about the pain she knew! I refused to accept that I was beginning my period, haha. I think my hormones were making me really moody. xD
As @genjgal said, in the future you will probably be able to predict when your period is coming because your body will let you know. I always get super hungry before my period, and extremely stubborn and emotional.
If by part you mean vulva or vagina, for me those never hurt because of my period, except many many years after I started getting my period and had other problems the blood/mix was irritating, which is unrelated to what you are asking in my opinion.
The parts that usually hurt are right above the hairline of your pubic hair inside your body where your uteris would be. Another way to describe the location is between your hip bones at the center of your body, below your belly button. Some women get back pain also. If you have a lot of endometriosis in odd areas you could get pain in other places.
I didn’t realize I got mine until I checked. It was literally just a spot. What caused me to check, though, was the weird feeling. It’s not painful..just different. wet.
I think you should go see a doctor or talk to your parents—they’ll be more helpful to you than we are because they can assess your condition better than we can, obviously.
