Where should I stay in Bruges and Brussels?

I’ll be staying in Bruges for one night and Brussels for two nights in May. Any suggestions on where to stay? I’m looking for a more specific hotel recommendations (mid range price). Ideally, I’d like to stay at a quaint bed and breakfast in Bruges around the Burg area. I’m open to suggestions regarding Brussels. Thanks!

I wish I could recall. I spent a summer night there (Bruxes) about 13 – 14 years ago. Three friends shared a room (three beds) in a cheap place (bathroom down the hall), and I won’t say it was heaven, but it was enjoyable.

I have seen “In Bruges” and loved it. It’s part of the reason why I’m visiting. I just booked a hotel for Brussels: Hotel Bloom. I still need to find a nice little place in Bruges.
