NSFW: What do you think about people having hickeys?

Do you think it looks bad? Do you think it’s something to be proud of? Would you be upset if your child had one?

This does not apply to me personally, as I don’t have a child old enough to get one and I try not to get them myself, as, in my opinion, it looks bad in the workplace (at least in the circles that I work in). I want to know what others think of it.

When I was young and would get them, my mom would get very upset as she equated them with having had sex, which was not necessarily what happened when I received them.
