Good article, thanks for sharing. I have friends that I’ve known most of my life and we can go without talking for years, but something comes up and one of us needs help or support, and it’s right back there.
For me, it’s unconditional caring about another person regardless of time or distance.
There are a few people that I connect with immediately, and others I have to warm up to for a year or two.
That article is a pretty good description of what a friend is. I have friends who will listen to me into the night, and are brave enough to tell me to my face if I am fucking up. But they accept me for who I am, and will overlook my flaws as long as they know I am aware of them.
Good friendship means I don’t have to clean up before you come over anymore. not sure anymore, think I saw that on Facebook
It’s friendship, friendship
Just the perfect blendship
When other friendships have been forgot
Ours will still be hot
Lalalalalalala chikchikchik.
@JohnBull81 Welcome to Fluther. I believe the short article you linked answers it well enough. Simply put, a friend is there through thick and thin.
It’s about listening.
It’s about helping the other person out as needed without counting the cost.
It’s about shared good times.
It means that you have learned to enjoy somebody’s bullshit the same way that they have learned to enjoy yours.
True friendship shouldn’t mean anything more than no expectations.
To make time when it’s inconvenient.
