So where DO I put my references?

The most wonderful Jelly in the world is helping me fine tune my resume. I like every suggestion he’s given and I think it’s looking pretty good.
One of the last things he told me was to take the references off of my resume. That was yesterday. He’s gotten busy since then, and hasn’t had a chance to respond, and I’d like to get this submitted today, if possible.
So…where would I put my references if not on my resume?

References available upon request.
I thought about that. That’s doesn’t make me look evasive?
No, as long as you can actually provide them upon request
I can. My mom and my dad. ;)~ Who are both deceased. :(
Thanks.
@Windmill They are not references if they cannot vouch for you. A reference should be a former employer, a mentor, someone who has seen you work and can say something positive about your work ethic.
@Seek_Kolinahr Yes. I have, as references, my manager from my most recent position, a manager from another position I had until 2005, and a bank president. They have all allowed me to use them as references.
In the event that you are called in for an interview, bring their information with you. If it is asked for, give it.
You supply them “on request.” So just be prepared to write them out or hand a sheet with that information on it at the interview.
I’m seeing that they also want a cover letter. I haven’t written a cover letter in years. What info do I put on it? Basically a summary of my resume or what?
In a cover letter, you’re going to write why you fit this job. The qualifications you have, the past experience you have…
This is the actual cover letter that got me my current job as an admin assistant/call center agent/receptionist/everything else. Bear in mind the advert for the listing was kind of comical. Listed such things under “Job Requirements” as “Guard against Zombies”, and “Bowstaff skills”
Konnichiwa!
I’m (my name), and you need fear no zombies whilst I have bow or quarterstaff in hand. I grant that I’m not great with a rifle, but I’ll give Robin Hood and Little John a run for their folkloric money.
While the undead hordes are rotting peacefully in the stock room, I’ll also tame the ferocious beasts of the Copy Room; defend King and Country from eMail, walk-in clients, and up to twenty ringing phone lines; and order the whirling maelstrom of paperwork into submission.
I fear no one. I’ve worked for local government.
My resumé is attached. (See that attention to detail? I even add accent marks.)
I await your call.

So is it basically a summary of your resume and a summary of how awesome you are?
LOL!! That’s Ãwesome, @Seek_Kolinahr!
The cover letter is your personal advertisement why YOU ARE PERFECT for the job. You’re selling your qualifications that the organization/company is looking for! Good luck!
