I recently started making desserts from scratch; I made an ice pop using freshly squeezed orange juice, vanilla extract, organic honey, and Greek yogurt. Tasted extremely good, and without all the added sugar that you get from the store bought kind. Have you ever tried this?

When I did make desserts, I only made them from scratch. Mixes and short-cuts are nasty. Why bother? It’s faster to buy store-bought stuff.
You bet I do.
One time I was so itchy that I was able to make a whole epithelial pie from my scratchin’s! ;-p

I’ve never understood why people make those chemical-tasting “goodies” from boxed mixes.
Years ago, I had a co-worker who got tremendous joy from baking a cake for every colleague’s birthday. She used boxed cake mixes, canned frosting, and tubes of CakeMate decorative icing. All of us appreciated her kindness; none of us wanted to eat her creations. They tasted dreadful and were a waste of calories.
I do, but we don’t often have dessert. I’m not comfortable enough to make up recipes like I do for main dishes, appetizers, or soup. Baking is too exacting a process and I don’t know enough.
I’ve been making my own tiramisu lately. Really fast, easy, delicious, and far better than any store-bought crap.
Yes, I have made sugar-free, low-carb cheesecakes and cookies from scratch. They are very good!
I do like making desserts from scratch over boxed mixes. I’m pretty famous (in my family, at least) for making a mean snickerdoodle, and I always make them from scratch! Not only do they taste better, but I think it’s a lot more fun that just mixing a few ingredients together! I am sometimes guilty of using boxed cake mix rather than making a cake from scratch, but in general I do enjoy making things from scratch more!
