I always liked vampires when I was younger… But then again, who doesn’t?

I would say “god” just to get a rise out of people, but he really wouldn’t qualify as a favorite.

I will admit that i’m a bit of a cthulhu fangirl (but am more in love with the cutsie fan-created version. )
There’s something inherently sexy about vampires… but I have always liked the half-animal half-person things the best; Lamia (snake people), Centaurs, Mermaids/men and the like.

Unicorns and pegasus are both well represented in my collections of bronze and brass statues, porcelain, ceramic, crystal, glass and carved stone figurines, fountains, tapestries, illustrations and collector plates. It’s a very extensive collection despite having had many pieces stolen from my home several years ago.

My kneejerk response is of course vampires. Dracula, Nosferstu, Anne Rice, Buffy, Lost Boys, movies, books… Ahh, to be young and beautiful forever. Plus, all the good neck.

As far as a more complex creature…well I’d have to sleep on it.

I am a big fan of the chupacabra. Plus, it’s a fun word to say!

Thor – Norse god of Thunder has a special place with me. Perhaps because I enjoy the stories about him and that my home town has MjĂžlnir (Thor’s hammer) in its coat of arms.

Other mythological creatures I like: Pegasus – it’s like an animal muse, love the idea of that, I named my cat Pegasus. She was my inspiration. Medusa is another. Again, just really like the story behind the creature.

Amongst modern fictional characters, I’d have to go with Cartman! He’s so evil, it’s impressive! But I also like Hello Kitty, Gloomy Bear and the Woodland Critters (from South Park). There’s something very appealing about the blended cute/evil characters.

There are so many it’s hard to choose but I guess two of my favorites are Aslan from the Narnia books and the Ents (tree-men) from MiddleEarth.

My favourites are dragons. I love to draw and paint them.
I now also have a soft spot for vampires after being sucked in to the world of Stephenie Meyer.

Aww, phoenyx, you got to my favorite first. Still, it is your name and all. I too am a fan of the phoenix. I love the concept of the consuming fire freeing the creature for rebirth. I also like griffins.

Either Santa or the Tooth Fairy ‘cause when I believed in I got something good from them.

Werewolves and griffins are my absolute favorites. But I’m also a big fan of just about anything that’s two things at once.

@delirium – Have you read Laurel K Hamilton’s Anita Blake series?

delirium's avatar

No, I haven’t. I’m working on a good book list right now to get. What are they like?

MacBean's avatar

@delirium They’re good until they turn into plotless bad porn where the author is mentally inserting herself as the main character and writing out all her fantasies.

syz's avatar

Unfortunately, MacBean is correct about the later books in the series. But the early books are quite good. The main character is a vampire executioner who becomes romantically involved with a sexy Master Vampire and the head of the local werewolf pack.

delirium's avatar

O.O Hahaha, sounds intriguing! I’ll be sure to check it out!

If I haven’t seen it in person, it doesn’t exist.

I have always been rather fond of gryphons. They look noble and intelligent but somehow cuddly.

It doesn’t hurt that they tend to guard caves full of treasure.
