I was prescribed eyeglasses with prisms. What do you know about them?

Asked by Aster (20028points) April 24th, 2013

So I developed sideways double vision years ago and I finally went to the Opthamologist. He prescribed eyeglasses with prisms and , with my vision being 20/40 and 20/25 he said it should correct it. Anyone have these? Are they hard to find and quite expensive?

I have a prism for a weakness in one of my eyes. It helps. I don’t recall how much extra it cost but I don’t think any more than, say, tinting. Any optician can provide them.
