Applying for Economic Hardship Deferment?

If a woman is receiving social security from a deceased husband, and is applying for a Economic Hardship Deferment, what kind of paperwork does she needs to show proof that she receives that, to apply for an Economic Hardship Deferment?

Is this in relation to a student loan?

You should have received a SSA-1099/1042S in January that summarized the benefits you received in the prior year. That would suffice.

Also, I found this in a brochure, “Economic Hardship Deferment Frequently Asked Questions: What kind of income documentation is required when determining a borrower’s eligibility?
The following documents are commonly used to substantiate a borrower’s income: copy of most recently filed tax return, letter from the borrower’s employer or copy of borrower’s residency contract verifying income, W-2, or copies of paychecks substantiating income for one full month.
