Which cooler is better?

Asked by JLeslie (65790points) May 8th, 2013

I’m in the market for a cooler and I am trying to figure out if there is much difference between the 38 quart Igloo cooler that costs $25 and one that costs $35. The only difference I see of the bat is the more expensive one is heavier, so does that imply it will keep things cool longer?

It doesn’t have to be an Igloo, it is just what I have been looking at.

The coolers look like they the same: the more expensive one is a combo with the other items shown there.

This is why I need a second pair of eyes, I didn’t even notice it was a combo! Does this coco-cola one like we are only paying more for the coke name?

Yup – it does.

Are you looking to keep it for a long time? Do you want the one that keeps things cooler for longer periods of time? If so, go with a Yeti or a Yukon. They are spendy but you get what you pay for. If neither of the above questions applies to you and you are just looking for something to keep a six pack of cokes cool for a couple of hours, go with the $25.00 igloo.

@rojo All day, outside, in very hot weather sometimes. I’ll look into the brands you recommended. We won’t have perishables in there all day though usually, they might be in for a few hours. Thanks!
