Is it a great day or a crappy day now they have convicted Jody Arias?
Someone on the news just said it’s a great day in the Alexander camp. I think that’s insane. You just convicted someone of a terrible crime. It doesn’t bring Travis back. And they can’t let her get away with it. But I think the day sucks for everyone. I think the death penalty isn’t the answer either. Feel free to challenge any and all of my statements.

I’ve never heard of this person, so I’d say it’s a great day… but that it was not in any way affected by his or her conviction.
@glacial I don’t think anyone wins with this conviction.
“Great day” doesn’t mean “he’s been raised from the grave”. It means the person who ended his life brutally is not going to get away with it.
Who cares? Alexander is still dead. And always will be.
Arias is either going to prison for life or will be put to death. Either way, she’s not going to escape punishment.
All the rest of it is hyperbole and publicity. This really does not matter one iota in the scheme of things.
How many people are murdered in your country in a given week? Why is this one receiving so much attention?
Obama could have gotten her off if he’d been her defense attorney.
“What does it matter?” and “It happened a long time ago.”
@glacial It’s Casey Anthony all over again. People get shocked when a seemingly normal, relatively privileged female commits an atrocious act. It’s so unladylike! It makes the news.
You’re right, it shouldn’t matter more or less than any other taking of a life, but our media feeds on shock and titillation.
Neither crappy or great. A liar and a psychopathic murderer is off the streets though, and that’s a good thing, now she can’t hurt anyone else.
@Blueroses You’re probably right. But it sounds like there are several jellies (on this and another question) who have a serious hate-on for this specific killer. @Adirondackwannabe, why do you personally feel so angry about this murder – enough so to write a question on Fluther about it? Do you find yourself as angry about any other killing you see in the paper?
@glacial I wasn’t any more or any less angry about this murder. I was angry about the glee some people were expressing over the conviction. One commentator said It was a great day in the Alexander camp. That’s bullshit. They’ve lost a member of their family. Read my first two sentences again.
Its great that this trial has ended and justice served.
Now all can heal.
@Jody is the most narcissistic sociopathic woman of all time. She wanted a guy, Travis Alexander, and when he turned her down after a sexual encounter she stabbed him in the chest, and the 28 more times as he tried to get away, slit his throat from ear to ear and shot him. a lot of people, my s/o included are obsessed with the case. I can’t wait til its finished
