Do you want to be else where? Are you restless?

Asked by Inspired_2write (14486points) May 10th, 2013

Lately I have noticed a restlessness feeling.
People that I talk with on a regular basis “all” are saying the same mantra“I want to move somewhere else”?
One wants to move back home, another wants to move across the country to where he used to live, and now my neighbor and friend entertaining the idea of moving in with her adult son in another Province(Canada) near the Coast?
Is it the season that is making everyone restless?
Or are these simply ready for a move?
What makes you want to move? Is there a place that you would rather move too?

I just moved into a less than desirable situation after being stable and single living alone on property for years. I really hate my circumstance right now and yes, I am restless.
I would love to move somewhere new, but friends, family and finances prevent it.

My husband and I live here because our parents live here and we want our daughter to have easy access to her grandparents. We’d move anywhere with better weather if it weren’t for them. My husband always talks about Costa Rica, but I’d hate living where I was a doofus in the language.

I am happy, but if I got stuck on the beaches of Hawaii . . . ;>)

Yes, I am restless. I always dream of travelling the world and see it all, but unfortunately I have my education that keeps me where I am. I am also scared of taking chances.

I would love to move to a different building/house, but in the same town, and even in the same neighborhood. I do think about moving in the region but not elsewhere.

My personal restlessness is about wanting to get away to Hawaii or Italy or France and relaxing for three weeks in the warmth.

Actually, my partner and I are feeling that exact same way. We are planning to move to Cornwall within the next 3 years.

I just moved and now I am very happy.

I love where I am living; I would however like to ship my knees far far away.

Today in the shade gardens; the background music is the northern oriole on flute and the pileated woodpecker on percussion.

I’m usually either entirely peaceful or completely restless, not much of a middle-road for me.

I want to get our house in the country built and move there. Failing that, I’d settle for just moving to the bedroom and going back to bed. :/

Beautiful @gailcalled. What state do you live in?

gailcalled's avatar

New York, next to the MA. state line and the rolling hills of the Berkshires. That dream house of yours still looks sweet to me. Why are you stalling? My bro-in-law hired a friend as a general contractor and then helped out in areas where he had the skills, when he bought land several miles from me.

@gailcalled New York? Amazing, I wouldn’t have thought that was New York. Just shows how naive the British are!

I was thinking back east. Yeah, when we think of New York we think of the city. I was surprised to learn that it is a beautiful state.

@gailcalled Money. It doesn’t help that I just lost my job, either.

New York by name but known as the Berkshires by beauty.

I was thinking about moving a few months ago but lately I have been very happy nesting in my house and looking forward to summer again at the Shore. Some things will be different and some will be the same post-Sandy. A good friend uses my woodshop frequently so that makes me happy in this house too.

I trimmed the boxwoods today and bought beautiful hanging fuschia baskets for the front porch.

(Of course having family to visit in Paris and SF doesn’t hurt either.)

@gailcalled Milo’s home is his castle, after all!

Ever since I went to Belize and lived there for 7 months I haven’t felt right in the US. All I want to do is graduate and get the hell out of this country. I was truly happy there, for the first time in my life, and knowing that makes me all the more miserable being here. Most nights I have these vivid dreams of being back in Belize. They’re generally quite simplistic like walking down a street to the town I lived in or something like that but it just makes me miss it all the more. Even just typing/thinking about it now is making me a bit depressed.
