Are you traveling in the next 3 or 4 months?
Are you taking a vacation in the next 3 or 4 months?
If so, where are you going? What will you be doing? Why are you going? Who is going with you? :-) Are you going by plane, train, or automobile?
I’m going to Oklahoma to a family reunion over the US holiday weekend in late May (Memorial Day). I’m flying, of course. I’m extending my stay to be able to spend as much time as possible with my parents.

I’m going to Canada. It’s a work/holiday trip with my husband. I will fly to LA and then to Vancouver and then we’ll drive and fly across Canada. Then we’ll come home. I am very excited about seeing Canada. It is on the top of my must-see places list.
I hope your trip is wonderful @Hawaii_Jake. You’ve had a busy and then emotional few months so it will be good for you to have some family time.
I hope you have a great time. I’m glad things are looking better for you.
I am going to join my husband in San Diego in June. He will be in Southern California all month on business and I will fly down one week end to spend with family there.
Late July, Corfu, 2wks family holiday…niiiice.
A weekend in July. Meeting friends in Ithaca, NY. Going to Corning and hitting at least one brewery tour. I’m still stunned that my husband agreed to this.
@Hawaii_Jake – I hope the reunion is nice and that you and your parents can have a good time together.
Next week I’ll be driving to Florida to work with my sister in the Everglades National Park for a rail survey (and maybe get to catch a few giant pythons).
In June, I’m super excited to be going to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Glacier National Parks. I’ve never been anywhere near there, and I’m psyched!
Berlin and Paris in a few weeks with a friend. Visiting my BIL and SIL in Berlin and son and DIL and grandson in Paris.
Only vicariously, through all of you. Have fun!
I have nothing planned yet, but I’d like to go to Scotland again.
No plans, but I’d love to take at least a mini-road trip. If we stretch it all the way to next year, I will (hopefully!) be going on a cruise with my job. W00t!
Trip maybe for nephew’s wedding in NY state. In July it will be a day to rive up and stay for two or three days to visit other relatives.
I think our new house and all the projects it in entails IS our vacation, although hubby and I are going camping in Flagstaff next weekend and I might go to Scotland later this summer. My daughter and her family are moving there and she is going a couple of weeks early to get a flat and I might help my son in law bring the kids over.
I’m going to Scotland a couple of times, once with my boyfriend and once with my dad. My boyfriend and I will drive there but my dad and I will fly there to save time.
I am also going to America (we’ll be travelling through a few states) with my boyfriend, obviously by plane and then hiring a car when we get there!
All of these are for holidays!
In a couple weeks I am going to southeast FL for my neice’s graduation and staying on a couple days to see friends. A week later I am going to northeast FL for my girlfriend’s daughter’s graduation and to have a mini vacation with another friend who lives in that area. A couple weeks after that I am going to Virginia International Raceway, because my husband is racing up there. We also are trying to get together when we will go to Germany this summer (I hope we can pull that together) and this September I hope to go up to Michigan to see friends and a football game at my school. October we will be at Daytona racetrack. I could go on.
@syz – If you’ll be around and have the time – I’ve been wanting to take my son to the Big Cat Rescue forever. It’s here in Tampa. ^_^
@Seek_Kolinahr I’ve dealt with them for breeding loans, but never been there. Maybe I’ll alot some time to stop in….
Yes! Nowhere exotic, but I am going to a US national park (sorry for being so general, don’t like giving away location on the internet) for 2 months, starting in mid-June, and will be doing work for them for my college junior project. I’m SO excited.
I’m thinking of taking one last road trip to the DC area to see some college friends before I disappear… in France for about a year. I’m not sure quite when I’m leaving yet, but I hope it will be around July or August… I know it doesn’t make much sense to begin a research trip to France when everyone and his mother is on vacation… but I just really want to get back there, and I won’t be getting paid in the U.S. after May… It’s going to be hard work every day, but it’s definitely also a vacation. I will be alone in the superunknown; I’ve never been to this part of France before, know no one there, and will be working in archives and drinking cider with a bunch of old men. Party time!
@Hawaii_Jake: Hope you enjoy your family visit.
Safe travels to everyone!
I am not going until August (when Congress is in recess). Then I am going to Nova Scotia with friends for a week with plans to visit relatives and friends in Maine and Massachusetts afterwards.
In July I’ll fly by myself form Tacoma Washington (where I live) over to Indianapolis for 12 days of OR, CCU and R&R. On the first day there I’ll check myself into St. Francis Hospital and the following morning surgeons there will monkey with my heart in the OR. Then for 2 or 3 wonderful days I shall lounge about the CCU with tubes in my arms and chest and a Foley tube up my urethra. Then my wife will fly to Indianapolis to help me out of the hospital so that we can enjoy a few glorious days of walking about down town Indianapolis. Then after the cardiologist who is in charge of my case checks me over (on our last day in Indianapolis) my wife and will fly home and go back to work. I can’t wait for the fun to begin!
I’m taking a 4-day weekend starting Friday, driving 6 hours north to the Michigan U.P. A friend has a cabin deep in the woods.
We open it every spring, making the place ready for renters. We make repairs, carry canoes to the river and stock the river with trout. We clear and mark new trails, clean the existing trails of live growth and dead logs, and this weekend we’ll build a small bridge.
It’s hard work but I love any chance to be outdoors.
The place is off the grid, but it has solar electric power and propane gas, so there’s a real kitchen and hot showers. We eat and drink like kings every night.
I am going to Italy and Spain with family.
How I wish! Send postcard messages to us stay at homes.
I’m planning a business trip to Malaysia and India early next month. (I wish it was mid-June already.)
I’m planning to fly, alone, and only because my boss and the Project Director require the travel. Basically, I’ll be wasting my time in order to keep up appearances.
Not this year, but am saving up for something FABULOUS. Not sure where yet…and need to build some confidence at some point so that I can take my son away on.my.own aaaaahhhhhhhh
Going home to Colorado for the first time in two years. Definitely flying there, then probably taking a side trip to visit friends in Michigan since I’ll be back in the States.
I’ll be sailing home. Back to the west coast of Florida to hopefully work in cardiac research, but more likely in psych on a crisis unit. I’m resisting going back with all my resources, but it’s inevitable. Time to go home and do it all over again. It’s my turn to envy all of you on your hard-earned vacations and jobs overseas. Bon voyage to you all.
And Augie, I’ll dedicate the voyage home to you and keep you posted via PMs, if you like. You are a sweetheart and I know you need a break.
I am totally going to live vicariously through you, @Espiritus_Corvus. Adventure awaits!
