Shouldn’t somebody in the current Administration own up to responsibility for something-anything?

Asked by josie (30934points) May 14th, 2013

The President seems to be a facile blamer, denier and finger pointer about anything that makes him uncomfortable.

Whether or not it is actually a scandal, nobody at the Department of State, the CIA, or anywhere is stepping up about the Bengazi fuck up,

The IRS commissioner is blaming the harassment and intimidation of certain political groups on somebody else in a distant city.

The Attorney General, having denied knowing anything about gun running to Mexican drug cartels, now proclaims he recused himself from the the Associated Press secret investigation, so therefore it must be somebody else’s fault.

Even the impressionable and occasionally confused George W. Bush stood up and said “I’m the decider!” Sounded stupid, but at least he was saying who’s responsible.

I know politicians don’t like negative scrutiny, but isn’t this becoming a shameless spectacle?

Biden looks like he’s hiding a dark secret to me, was he on the grassy knoll?

@thorninmud

In the same article referring to the Ambassador’s murder, she says “I care deeply about what happened that night.”

Duh. So do I.

She also says “I don’t want us to reach any conclusions about what we did or didn’t do without the full context. I mean I understand why people want to ask questions but I just caution that we need to look at everything and everything needs to be explained at the same time.”
That is a “soft” admission. Sort of like the modern “soft” apology “I am so sorry if you are angry”.

Anyway, in my opinion, she’s doing her best to be good soldier, and still keep her distance.

@ucme It is more likely that it was Cheney on the knoll.

@josie That’s just parsing words and phrases, kind of like Issa trying to whip up righteous indignation by claiming there is a difference between an “Act of Terror” and a “Terrorist Attack”. It is crap like that, in my opinion, make what he is doing a joke. It takes away from the seriousness of the situation, obsures the facts and adds fuel to the claims of political circus.

@rojo Yeah, that was my best guess too, but I tried to keep it current.

I have to admit, this Q made me smile as a liberal conservative.

The fact is, both parties are no longer transparent, actually anything but. We the people need to regain the power, and make them remember they work for US. We pay their salaries.

Until more people are able to say what they believe, and stand up for it at the voting booths, it will remain a cesspool of greed and secrets. That’s not a conspiracy theory, it’s fact.

*Bush had some issues, talking was one of them, but he was really funny and the guy wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone when it came to defending our people and our country. If nothing else, I respect him for that.

So you say nobody has taken responsibility.

In fact, @thorninmud pointed out, someone did, awhile back. You don’t think it is sincere or something.

Conservatives sound exactly like my ex-wife whenever they are talking lately. “I know you spent time with my family this weekend like I asked. But I don’t think you wanted to spend time with my family, you only did it cause I asked.”

They will own up to something when they get unmistakably busted. Thats about the only time anyone in power does it and even then after a shitload of diversionary tactics.

@josie I think you will appreciate George Carlins’ take on politicians and political speech.
