What is your LEAST favorite Beatles song ?
(Almost) Everybody loves Beatles music, but everyone must have a least favorite. Mine happens to be their cover of Larry Williams’ “Bad Boy” from ‘Beatles VI’.
Please discuss…

I find “Hey Jude” pretty hard to stand. And I could do without the whole Magical Mystery Tour album…
“Taxman” – I find it droney and annoying.
Most of the stuff they did after they started dropping acid and hanging out with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as their guru and especially after Yoko entered the picture.
Not sure if it’s my least favourite, but Michelle was the first song that popped in my head of theirs that I strongly dislike.
I looked at this list and amazingly, there’s only one I can honestly say I wouldn’t want to hear again: Rocky Raccoon.
Probably Revolution 9 doesn’t count, does it…
“With A Little Help From My Friends” is just a song I’ve always had a hard time with. I don’t know why, I just can’t stand it.
@Dutchess_III. I know, isn’t it amazing? I had forgotten there were so many, and it was fun playing some of them in my head as I scanned the list.
@tups, I agree. I think it’s mainly the vocal—Ringo, isn’t it?
The first time I heard that song was in health class. They were trying to tell us not to do drugs, and to that end they showed us a vid of some cool hippies smoking dope and it was set the that song.
First time I’d ever heard about marijuana OR the song, but it all looked pretty fun to me!
“GIRL” ....”...she’s the kind of girl who makes you sorry, ‘though you don’t regret a single day. Oh, GIRL-LLLL; oh , GIRL-LLLL..”
@Pachyderm_In_The_Room I don’t think it’s the vocal that makes it bad for me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, I just find it highly annoying. I guess I think it lacks authenticity.
Most of the early 60s stuff. I start liking them during the weird songs: Paperback Writer, and the like.
But I really, REALLY hate the Ballad of John and Yoko.
I think its called The Man on the Hill. Its the one with the silly flute trills.
Maxwell’s Silver Hammer. When I was at school, our choirmaster was a Beatles fan so we did quite a few, but that particular one we did to death. Quite an inappropriate song to teach to ten-year-olds, in retrospect…
Almost any of it before Help!.
One after 909 sux.
And I am none too fond of Revolution #9 no matter how avant-garde it is/was.
Give Peace a Chance.
We gave peace a chance and we got 911 for it.
@Bellatrix. It seems that you’re not fond of the Ringo songs. Personally, I’ve always thought it was sweet that the other three Beatles gave Ringo a solo on every LP…a song with a simple tune and no need for vocal range.
@gondwanalon. I believe that “Give Peace a Chance” was John’s first solo single. Even though John was still with the Beatles, the song was released by the Plastic Ono Band, not by the Beatles.
I never liked “Come Together” or “I Want You (She’s So Heavy), both from Abbey Road. And, after I’d heard “Hey Jude” drone on for about 1,000 times, it became very tedious.
I like most of the stuff you guys are listing, though after some thought I need to mention the one about Rita the Metermaid.
Eleanor Rigby. The lyrics seem so pitying, like they paint a portrait of these sad people but don’t try to understand them, and the whole thing is kind of sappy.
On the other hand, I’m a huge fan of the movie “Ghost World,” where pretty much the whole message of the movie is alienated people trying to make themselves understood. The filmmakers pull off a great balance of black humor and empathy.
Eleanor Rigby is pretty much the opposite of that.
Eleanor Rigby, definitely. And I hate The Long and Winding Road – it gets me depressed. Especially when waking up to it at six a.m. during winter. Ungh.
@fundevogel Haha I love Fool on the Hill. I shall admit though, the flute sound in it is really…strident, and kind of a pain for the ears sometimes, especially when it goes into that demonic solo. But the melody of the song itself made me forgive it.
All of the George Harrison’s Indian songs.
I pretty much hate Imagine, does it count as a Beatles song?
@this_velvet_glove “I pretty much hate Imagine, does it count as a Beatles song?”
It’s a former Beatles song. The “Imagine” L.P. was released in 1971, after the Beatles breakup, and John, Yoko, and Phil Spector co-produced it.
She Loves You.
(no, no, no..)
