Hoping to really get some good advice about washing really good denim dark wash jeans. What are your tips?

I just throw them in the machine. But if you want to preserve color, use cold water.
Turn them inside out, then put them in the washing machine with cold water and with like colors only.
Can I dry clean it? Will that keep the color intact?
You can dry clean them, of course you can. That’s going to add up over the years, money wise, though.
I just put them in the washing machine with the rest of the clothes at 90°.
But then again, they were white to begin with.
I wash mine in the machine with cold water and let them air dry, they’re normally pretty stiff after that, so I toss them in the dryer for a couple of minutes before wearing them.
I’m more concerned about preserving length than preserving color, though.
I turn dark jeans inside-out and wash in cold with my other darks. I put them in the dryer on low for about 20 minutes to get wrinkles out and to strt the drying process, then I hang them to dry the rest of the way.
They are jeans. Throw them in the washer. The whole reason we get jeans is the durability. If you are babying them, or trying to make them last, you are missing the point of them.
@pleiades I have my good jeans dry cleaned. It prserves the color and the fit.
Inside out, cold water, with other darks, washing machine and line dry.
I try to avoid using dry cleaning for anything other than my one dress wool winter coat. The chemicals alarm me.
I recently read this article. I couldn’t imagine going six months without actually washing my jeans though…
@uberbatman I couldn’t imagine going a week without washing them. I wear my jeans tight and, after one or two times wearing them, they’ve stretched out and are mighty unflattering from behind. A wash seems to return the denim to its original shape, not take away from it. Plus, jeans get dirty just like the rest of our clothes, and Windex just isn’t going to cut it.
@livelaughlove21 Yea I don’t get it either. I’ll wear a pair of jeans twice and then into the wash with em.
Cold water, inside-out, with like colors, gentle-ish cycle, with color preserving detergent and air or GENTLY tumble dry.
Windex???Gross. To me, whenever I am out in a public place sitting on any chair, including my car (where I’ve sat after sitting in many public places), I consider my pants dirty. I may or may not wear them twice per washing, but that’s it. I definitely avoid sitting on my bed with clothes on that I’ve worn outside.
To make any clothes last, avoid drying them in the dryer.
