Personally, I’m pretty meh about it, despite being a book fan. But I have a bibliophile friend who’d very likely love that!
Hm, despite Gatsby and Perks being very dear to my heart, I wouldn’t be interested in one, and I can’ t think of buying one as a gift for anyone I know.
Its for any of your favorite book titles.
Great idea. I wonder if they’ve got permission to copy the artwork?
No. I like reading, not carrying books around. A pendant only helps me do the latter.
I read every day and go through a lot of books, and I wouldn’t be interested at all. But I’m sure there are readers who would be.
Great gift ideas though, right?
I wouldn’t like it. I mean sure it would be a conversation piece when desperate but maybe too contrived. Besides I would get tired of discussing the book with people who were only faking interest.
I don’t like to have to repeat conversations over and over.
I suppose it would be a good gift for someone who simultaneously liked books and doodads.
Sorry to disappoint it can be hard to find a good gift for other people. I quit trying so hard and found the results got better and were less stressful.
After all it is the thought.
I think they’re cute, but I wouldn’t wear one.
If I was going to go the jewelry route, I’d prefer this. But I’d rather have a book.
I wouldn’t want one either, but I don’t wear a lot of jewelry in general. I think they are cute, but I know I would never wear one. I’d rather spend the money on some more books.
@Inspired_2write: No—great gift ideas, wrong. If someone gave me one of those, I’d feel obligated to wear it or else feel guilty for not wearing it. Why would a great gift idea be something that people don’t want? (Look at the responses above.)
I don’t care to wear announcements of my likes, opinions, convictions, affiliations, etc. Besides, my “favorite” book tends to be the last good one I read. There’s really no place in my life for items of this sort. As @syz says, just give me the book.
@Inspired_2write
I like it, but I doubt my favorite books are represented. It’s a cool idea though… might make my own.
Bonzai books!
At first I thought it was like, you take your book down there or send it to them, and they shrink it into a pendant somehow. Which I would totally be against. But now I see that this isn’t what it is. So it’s okay, especially if they can make a specific book on demand, and not just have you select from premade jewelery, in the hopes that the book you want was made.
Not very interested in this myself though, the only jewelry I care for are bear claws and the teeth of my enemies.
I’d definitely prefer an actual book rather than pretty much any jewelry. Even the teeth of @Symbeline‘s enemies.
You may as well tattoo Gone With the Wind on your buttocks, or Moby Dick on your pe…now hey, behave yourself.
They are adorable, but I wouldn’t want to wear them.
My sister got me something similar, a little book pendant that opens up and has a place for a picture inside. I hardly ever wear it, but I loved the idea.
I think it would work better as a key chain sort of thing or maybe an ornament for a tree?
I kind of like it, I’d wear one on occasion. I’m a nerdle though…lol
@ucme I think there’s a more appropriate book title for tattooing on the genital area: “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” or “Treasure Island” depending on gender, of course
@Blueroses How Green is my Valley Shrek & the Hulk :)
