I found some examples used around the world & some of them are pretty strange. How about giving up your cutesy-wutesy, itsy-bitsy, shnooky-wooky lil love tags then…hmmmm?

“bastard”, “asshole” and “pleasedon’trapeme”
I call him fruit cake. He calls me my name. Nothing exciting.
I find traditional pet names a bit corny and fake, so have come up with my own. The main one being “sausage”. I don’t know why, it is just what I think when I look at her.
It is kind of like you can’t help it but imagine a gorilla raping someone when you hear “the lion sleeps tonight”.
I just look at her, and “sausage” is what I feel in my soul, lol.
Other than calling her sausage, I will some times use munchkin, slut or babe, but I normally only use babe if she has been using it a lot.
I call my husband Sexual Chocolate and Sex and he calls me Babe.
We also have our Lake/ Hillbilly names we use if one of us acts trashy, which are Bud and Sissy…hahaha!
We typically just call each other baby, honey, or sweetie. He sometimes calls me “hummin’bird” (from the movie, Con Air) and I call him “lobster” (from the TV show, Friends). Occasionally, just for the sheer silliness of it, we call each other schnookiewookums and pookiewookie.
We were married 20+ years before I realized that his pet name for me was “Baby.” I had responded to it but never really thought about it. When I became aware of it I thought it was a little strange, but then again I AM 11 years younger than him.
@ucme you never shared yours?
@Headhurts That’s right, how very perceptive you are…thought i’d let you lot few go first see :)
@ucme Those would be fun to guess, based on your cheeky personality – lol
Well, when we first went out we’d call each other soppy bubbly names, I was Tutti Frutti & she was Jelly Tot. Those were dropped a few years ago in favour of love, pet & babe, one of us had to mature…;-}
@ucme Pet is part of your lingo anyway isn’t it?
This is true @Headhurts, along with hinny, canny bairn & buggerlugs :)
@ucme heard of buggerkugs but not the other two.
Just saw that you’re in England, which region?
Come from Nottinghamshire. Live in Lincolnshire.
Ooh, posh bugger, nice to see another english face on here.
I come from Worksop, that is not posh!
Yeah, I meant Lincolnshire, common as muck from Worksop :)
Exactly. Not many can understand me. My boyfriend has even started missing the word ‘the’ out in sentences.
What the hell did those two just say? Couldn’t understand a bit of it.
We the fuck a ya tarkin to ya brasant bugger?
I call him Joshy Poo and he calls me Lyndsey Bear.
We only use pet names when we’re being silly or lovey-dovey. Otherwise, Josh and Lyndsey work just fine. I’m not a fan of all the baby, sweetie, hunny, pumpkin, etc. I once called him “babe” just to see what it felt like, followed by silence, and then I said, “I’ll never do that again.” He replied, “Yeah, thanks.” It just sounded stupid coming out of my mouth.
My wife likes it when I call her doll.
She doesn’t like it when I call her Dog Killer.
My little cunt muffin~
Usually babe though. It’s actually pretty rare that we refer to each other by our real names, only really in crowded areas where it’s hard to get the others attention.
@Headhurts My dad has called me fruitcake for as long as I can remember!
My boyfriend calls me Lumps which came from the Black Eyed Peas song where she sings about her “lovely lady lumps”!!!
Cheers folks, good stuff.
@Leanne1986 thats sweet, forgot you’re from the UK too. Its quite a sweet term, my boyfriend doesn’t like it though. I used to call my ex chicken, at the beginning, moved on to other words in the end.
@Headhurts Yes, I am from the UK. Wiltshire, so a bit lower down than you and @ucme :)
Big up the UK massive, rockin da house innit ;-}
My stuffed penguin does not talk.
Not even the merest squeek?
@ucme Well, there is some pillow talk.
Ahh, Rock Hudson/Doris Day #romance #movies #blastfromthepast.
