Do you know a good insurance company for pets?
I have a nine week old dog and I’m thinking about getting pet insurance for him because seeing a vetinarian is expensive paying out of pocket.

What part of the world are you in?
None of the dozens and dozens of pet owners I know (including me) have any recourse but to bite the bullet and pay the Vet’s bill. Try asking your Vet’s business manager.
The top two pet insurance companies in the U.S. are as follows:
1.) VPI (Veterinary Pet Insurance)
2.) ASPCA Pet Insurance
There may be others out there but these are the most popular two.
My advice to you is to get it while your pet is still very young preferrably within the first year. This is to prevent the insurance company from refusing to cover an ailment by calling it a pre-existing condition.
Also, with pet insurance you are responsible for paying the bill at your vet at time of service. You will have a form that your vet must fill out which you fax over to the insurance company with a copy of your bill. You will then be reimbursed at a later time by your insurance company. Many of the clients I came across when I worked at an emergency animal practice were very pleased with their insurance.
