What is your favorite secret or off menu item at a popular restaurant?
Personally I like to order the Scotty Thompson at Carrabas. It is marinara sauce with fresh mozzarella cheese with toasted garlic bread. Inspired by a thread on Reddit, what is your favorite off menu or secret item?

Long Island Iced Tea??? While they’re not on the drink menu, they’ll make them at my favorite bar if you know the handshake and promise to take a cab home.
The “Animal Style” option at In and Out Burger.
Chipotle: Just a tip – if you order a burrito bowl (or burrito) and ask for “half chicken, half carnitas” (or any 2 meats), you’re going to end up with more meat than if you had ordered just one. Sometimes much more. There is no additional cost.
Also, Starbucks has a size smaller than their smallest advertisted (“tall”). It’s called “short”.
At Italian restaurants I always get the antipasta- mozzerella, olives and tomato slices on or off the menu, maybe some bruschetta on the side. With a nice glass of white of course!
Just a nice clean beautiful plate, aesthetically appealing to all your senses.
I’m losing all my healthy-people points here…
If you get a $5 pizza at Little Caesar’s, and ask them to “heart attack it”, they’ll drown it in garlic butter and grated Parmesan.
Yep. I went there.
It’s soooo horrible. I might get one for dinner tonight.
@Seek_Kolinahr My husband would love that/ you, he wants pizza every other night, and he gets it about once every week or two…lol
Hungry Lion in Clinton Connecticut ( closed for many years ), I’d order a shrimp and seafood scampi.
Not on menu, it had two pounds of pasta, ½ pound of scallops, ½ pound shelled shrimp, ½ pound shelled clams, assorted lobster pieces and olive oil / butter garlic sauce. It was served in a LARGE salad bowl.
Johan’s nachos, and a Shirley Temple. <3
A&W onion ring in burger… sometimes with cinnamon bun as a bun. I will try the double down at KFC one day. Also ordering plain chicken wings or salt and pepper wings any where if you don’t like the flavored sauces .
59 cent vegetarian tacos at Taco Bell, using beans instead of beef.
And “a bowl of rice with vegetables added and teryaki sauce” at Jack in the Box for $1.50
@Seek_Kolinahr I love you for the Little Caesar’s tip. We always get the $5 hot and ready when we work the weekends… now I know how to buff it up!!
Old Chicago Pizzaria, always order the Italian Nachos with garlic butter (fried pasta chips with Italian sausage, mozzerella, pepperoncini and marinara) drizzle with garlic butter and it’s 50 shades of heaven!
