Would you like to be doing this on July 4th in 96 degrees?

There is a celebration of sorts at the place where we own a lake lot. We don’t know the people since we don’t live there. They cook hotdogs and some other foods. It should be about 96 degrees. They have lots of trees but I may not go. It was pretty boring last year just sitting around on lawn chairs and talking. How about you? Would you go?

Sure. I would love to see people and enjoy a cookout.
Do you get to swim, or go out on the lake? Are there fireworks? Anything else going on besides the hot dogs?
If you were able to choose one thing to do at the gathering, what would it be? Organize that for everyone, and all have fun!
If I had nothing else going on, I’d go.
96 degrees is a bit warm for me, especially if it is humid but personally I would go just to be sociable.
Sure. Day at the lake sounds lovely.
As it is, I’ll probably go to the local Megachurch, as they put on a free carnival for the kiddos that day, and then to our local bar for fireworks.
@zenvelo nothing else goes on unless you hang around for six hours for fireworks. We could certainly go fishing on our barge but we don’t swim. The place doesn’t have a pool and the new activity center was called off . Now, if they had a chilly rec center with a bar and music I’d definitely go. The money just wasn’t there.
I would go in the evening when maybe it would not be so hot. I’d plan on staying a few hours and leave after the fireworks.
^^^^^^ It does not cool off here at night . But we do have fireworks in our neighborhood that don’t start until after 9pm. I’m ashamed to say each year I lay in bed just waiting for them to stop. lol
I’d drop by for an hour maybe. Without a pool middle of the day in July is not very attractive to me for an extended period. The shade will help, but it still will be sweaty. Can’t it be held in someone’s house/cottage, kind of inside outside. If it was in the evening before the fireworks I would like it better.
I don’t want to drop by since it takes 40 minutes to get there. They don’t know me anyway.
Oh, 40 minutes away. That would be a big deterrent for me also.
I love to swim. I’d go versus the alternative of staying at home.
If I knew the people and wanted to spend some time with them, I would go. If I didn’t really know the people, but wanted to get to know them, I’d go. If I didn’t know them and didn’t want to get to know them, I wouldn’t go.
Cook outs are cool. I’d love that. Not much of a people person, but I would enjoy the trees and lake and everything. free food!
I won’ be doing anything. It is my day off at work, so I will be cleaning.
@Aster: It sounds as if you don’t want to go. Therefore, bottom line is, don’t go.
I agree with @jca, you don’t have to go, so figure out something you’d like to do!
