Lärabar, CLIF Bar or Kind Healthy Snacks?

Asked by rockfan (14632points) June 13th, 2013 from iPhone

Which “healthy” fruit and nut bar do you think is the best? I like Lärabars the most, but they’re so easy to make at home from scratch that it’s really pointless to buy them. I also like Clif Bars, although it’s more of a cookie than an energy bar.

Clif Bars are amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever had the other kind.

I don’t like energy bars. Why do they always have to be sugary?

I dream of a day they come out with a savory one (spinach, pine nuts, cheese and spices) because I love salty/umami and I don’t want something sweet for a quick boost.

@Blueroses Good idea! You should market that. I’ll be your first customer.

@Katniss I just wish somebody would see the market potential. I have many vegetarian friends who are even more sick of sugar options than I am. My friend was so excited to discover vegan “jerky”, she bought bags of the stuff. I ate a piece and spit it out accusingly… “I thought you said this was FOOD!” Yuk!!

@Blueroses I love sugar as much as the next person, but sometimes, like when I’m really hungry, it just isn’t appealing. I agree that a savory energy bar could be huge. I really think you’re on to something here.
Ummmmm what was this vegan jerky made from? lol

Blueroses's avatar

@Katniss I think it was made from kelp, soy, and the tears of starving children.

@Blueroses Well Lärabars aren’t sugary at all, they’re only made with 3 or 4 ingredients.

lol @Blueroses That’s so foul!

@rockfan I’ve looked since reading this thread and the Lärabars are not sold anywhere near me. I’m intrigued.
