oh oh! Also, the entire “pablo honey” album by radiohead. No one really appreciates that album, but it’s my favorite by them. That was also in 1993.

Desperately Wanting – Better Than Ezra (1996)

Closer – NiN (1994)

Who wants a mix tape!? :D

I was a younger kid in the 90’s and so grew up during that time. Only the popular big songs stick in my head and the ones that I picked up from my parents, including R.E.M.. I can remember artists like Eurythmics, Babylon Zoo (with Space Man), Eiffel 65 (with Blue), Deep Blue Something (with Breakfast at Tiffany’s), Genesis and Phil Collins (although the Greatest Hits albums were released late 90’s I’ve no idea when the songs were released officially). A number of songs I listen to, non-chart-ones were made in the 90’s but I’ve only in the past 2/3 years started listening to. Bearing in mind what I heard was only the really popular and somewhat catchy tunes that a 7 year old would pick up ;)

There actually was a lot of good music in the ‘90s, contrary to what a lot of people think. Much has already been mentioned – Counting Crows, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Nirvana, Pearl Jam…
But as far as best ‘90s music, as in “music that really won’t stand the test of time and I am ashamed to admit I enjoy it,” I have to go with The Sign by Ace of Base. What a fun album.
