Getting from Martha's Vineyard to Boston by bus?

Asked by occ (4179points) July 7th, 2007

I don't have a car...is it possible to take public transit or shuttle from Logan Airport in Boston to the Martha's Vineyard Ferry? Options? Prices? How long does it take? I know it is possible to fly there but I think it's probably pricey--and I'm scared of tiny planes...

If you would like your group to take public ground transportation to the boat, Bonanza Bus offers a direct route from Boston's Logan airport to the Steamship Terminal at Woods Hole that is quite easy to navigate and reasonably priced. The bus ride is about 90 minutes and the connecting ferry ride is about 45 minutes. With connections, you should assume about 3 hours total travel time for the ground route connection to the Island.
