Anyone else really excited for Pixar’s upcoming slate of films?

I saw Monsters University last week, and I thought it was moderately entertaining, but compared to Pixar’s greatest films, it felt like a generic TV movie.
But Pixar’s upcoming movies sound extremely promising:
The Good Dinosaur (2014)
The Inside Out (2015)
Finding Dory (2015)
Untitled Pixar film about Dia de los Muertos (2016)
What do you think?

Announcing “Finding Dory” was torture. Seriously? Two Years before it comes out?
Every big movie that’s released in Hollywood is announced two years before it comes out.
I wasn’t crazy about Nemo, so Dory doesn’t thrill me, but I will go see the others when they are released.
I am sorry you didn’t love Monsters University. I hope to see it soon with my grandson.
The idea of a Nemo sequel has been doing the rounds for years now & will be one to look out for, bit of a lazy title though.
Finding Nemo is one of my favorite movies ever. I am concerned that they will not do it justice, though. I had that same concern for the Toy Story sequels, but they did a terrific job with those. However, Cars 2 was obviously crap just from the trailers, and Monsters University looks lame, as well. This is why I am worried about Finding Dory.
@hearkat Pete Docter, the original director of Monsters Inc, didn’t direct Monsters University, so that’s probably why it was so lackluster. But Andrew Stanton is directing and writing the story for Finding Dory, so it should be really good.
@rockfan
Not really. I suppose I liked Wall-E, but that was because of the sexy white egg girl robot.
@rockfan I heard Monsters University was coming out on the same day I heard Finding Dory was coming out. This was some time in February. I don’t follow movies at all, but I didn’t think it’d be so far in advance that they’d mention upcoming movies! I hope you’re wrong about Monsters University being “generic”...I’m looking forward to seeing it!
If the Dia de los Muertos project was a movie adaptation of Grim Fandango then I’d be ecstatic.
@hearkat Are you sure you saw the real Cars 2, a sort of spy story taking place in the European Grand Prix? There is also a Cars 2 film shorts which is a group of short features that are like movie trailers.
I loved the movie Cars 2, but not the Cars 1 and 2 feature film shorts.
@YARNLADY – I did not see the Cars 2 sequel with Michael Caine. I skipped it because it looked bad in the trailers and the reviews of critics and friends who saw it were bad. You’re the first person I’ve heard that liked it.
I think Pixar is amazing but seriously, knock it off with the sequel/prequel shit. It worked for Toy Story but that’s it. I LOVED Finding Nemo but I have zero interest in seeing Finding Dory. Monsters INC – great ,Monsters U- meh . I’m pretty excited about the other ones though. I’ll be interested to see what they do with Dia de los Muertos. (@mrentropy while that would be amazing, I kinda doubt that will be the case.)
The cars movies were absolute and utter shit IMO. It’s weird to me to even refer to them as Pixar movies… And now Disney is making a retarded spinoff of Cars. Can’t wait – _ -
No. I used to get excited but not anymore. Not after Up and especially Brave.
I think Pixar has lost its way and probably heading downhill from here on. The main group of directors seem to have lost their creative juices. Disney owns them and I thought Lassiter and his core group would keep Pixar as Pixar but they have been Disneyfied. An example is Brave. It was more Disney than Pixar.
Pixar could be suffering from group think. They made the policy of not accepting story and ideas from anyone not part of their core group. This happened after they got sued by a guy for copying his fish character who looked very closely like Nemo. There’s also a lot more animated films being shown and there is a glut in the market. Not good for Pixar.
