Do you tip tailors?

Yet another question in my continuing series on money matters…
I just placed an order with a tailor for about $200 worth of alterations (a lot of shirts, and a repair job on a bag). Is a tailor in the category of service people whom one is expected to tip? If so, how much do you tip? I have received good recommendations about this business and if they do a good job, I would expect to go back.
Thank you in advance.

So you pay him and tip him? What’s the point of paying him?
Personally, I don’t see a need for tipping a tailor. I would think that they charge you what it would take them to do the job.
Also, it would be in their best interest to do a good job for you so that they can get repeat business out of you.
@bookish1 I would say no tip.
When I think about tipping, I think about servers in a restaurant, the girl who pierced my nose, the guy who inked me, and the pizza delivery person. For whatever reason, a tailor doesn’t really fit into that category for me.
No, because you are dealing with the proprietor. Business owners don’t get tips. If you are dealing with an individual tailor under the auspices of a larger business, but dealing with them individually and directly, it would be different, but I have never seen that type of arrangement.
Thank you, all Jellies, for your advice. I won’t tip this tailor, as she is indeed the business owner, and I just gave her a whole lot of business today.
Thanks @jca for sending that article my way.
No, i’ve never felt the situation suits a tip.
I just noticed someone tipping the shoe repair person. It has all become a bit much. It now seems someone makes the case for tipping everyone. If I had unlimited funds, I would, but I do not… Besides, I assume the price being charged covers materials, time and profit.
I’m dreading going to Canada and the US. I feel faux pas coming on. We rarely tip here. I know I’m going to get this wrong.
@Bellatrix You’ll be fine. If you’re in a restaurant, tip. If you get a piercing or a tattoo, tip. If you get your hair done, tip. Just use your own discretion and maybe watch what the people around you are doing. Piece of cake. Trust me.
