Have you ever put food in the fridge with no intention of eating it later?
Like KFC fries from the 1980’s, leftovers and stuff you wouldn’t eat even if it is fresh.

I never do that intentionally, but usually after one day if I haven’t eaten it, Now I won’t. That doesn’t always keep me from tossing it right away—I mean, one never knows when a famine will hit—but I do know myself well enough to know that any leftover, no matter how long its shelf life might be, is probably doomed to the garbage after 24 hours.
I’ve put leftovers in the fridge knowing that it’s highly unlikely that it will get eaten – especially the white rice they give you with Chinese food… I almost never eat that.
I always have the intention of using it and usually do, but occasionally it’ll hide behind something and rot before I find it again. I regret that and feel I’ve failed when it happens.
@hearkat Do you know that the Chinese feel that every grain of rice should be eaten because of the labor that went into producing it? It is so easy to toss it into vegetable or salad or soup and get it eaten up.just sayin’
Not that I can think of. I eat 90% of my leftovers.
I’ve put food away to eat it later and haven’t. I don’t put food in the fridge I know will never be eaten. I wouldn’t put Macca’s fries in the fridge.
I put food that I will not eat in the fridge all the time. That way it is fresh for the critters in the neighborhood.
Probably, to temporarily avoid feeling bad about wasting food. I’d never bother putting something like French fries in the fridge, though. Who wants soggy microwaved fries?
@LuckyGuy your critters are very spoiled and lucky to have you MrLucky.
All the time. I take leftovers from lunch at work and 90% of the time I never even look at it again. I throw the food out and usually keep the containers (the round black ones with the clear lids).
@hearkat People mostly do this with the Chinese food rice because it’s hard and un-eatable, BUT! before putting in the microwave, throw a little water on it and presto! not as great as fresh, but a lot more pleasant.
I always put food in the fridge without thinking of eating it. I have two roommates so I just always hope one of them will eat it, or it’s just in the fridge so it doesn’t stink up the garbage can until garbage day.
I think Chinese food is better on the second day. But white rice is crap no matter where it comes from.
