When I was in the Grand Tetons, I was (for some reason) shocked to find that sagebrush is aromatic. The wildflowers were blooming at the same time, so I’m not sure how much the scents mixed. Are you familiar with sagebrush? How would you describe its scent?
(The best I can do is sweetly astringent.)

My mom tried to buy some land in Utah that was mostly sagebrush. The closest I could come up with is Marijuana. Not exact, but the closest I could come up with.
^ Hmm, apparently everyone on the east coast is smoking skunkweed, then. This smelled much better than pot.
Sagebrush is the scent of my childhood : ) It grows in the canyons all over Southern California and back in the 60’s and 70’s (before Facebook, cellphones and the internet and video games) we would play in the canyon. When we came up out of the canyon, at dinner time, we all smelled like sagebrush.
It is somewhat sweet with kind of an umami scent, not at all like marijuana, which is kind of sharp and slightly stinky. It is vaguely pungent, but with a slightly lemony tone.
It smells like Thanksgiving stufing! and Afrin nasal spray… I’m allergic to sagebrush
It tastes a little bit like the sage in your Thanksgiving stuffing only a little more raw.
Depends on the variety and to a lesser extent the location it grows. Some of it can be nasty, some is used to make incense.
