Considering your profile, shouldn’t we be asking you? ;P

Firefox 3 is running really well on 10.5.3. And it looks good with the right theme.

And most of my extensions are working.

I personally think that even the new Firefox runs pretty heavy. It’ll take alot to pry me from my favorite, Safari.

Clean, light, fast, and effective.

Indeed – bar the lack of Safari addons, I still think that it is the best.

I think it really depends on what your needs are but try out:

Camino
Shiira

I agree. But I find the extensions in Firefox essential. If I just had to look at pages I would probably use Safari. I don’t think I could get by without Firebug and ColorZilla. The Del.icio.us extension is awesome too.

Firefox and Safari are both really good now Firefox 3 is out. I personally prefer Safari because it has really good RSS support that I’ve got used to and it has better support for web-standards. But then Firefox 3 has tonnes of addons and themes (although only 1 in 50 of the addons is genuinely useful and most the themes are ugly as sin).

Safari works great for me. Firefox tends to act strangely in small ways, though I enjoy the extensions. Camino is nice and light.

Keep them all around, give each a try, find what you like. They’re free. Mostly.

safari all the way, although i use webkit right now, sort of the same…

dear ztraffic,

as you and i both know, we here at fluther answer questions, these questions are filed and then processed by the user, if you’d please look at the question and tell me what it says…yeah, that’s right, best browser for mac,
now, let’s just take another look at that link of yours, what system is crazybrowser made for? yeah, windows, you know, that’s a big difference right there, mac…windows…not the same, so if you could go ahead and read both the question as well as your answer that would be great

thanks for helping make fluther the best site around

If you are into Social Networking, check out Flock, which is based on Mozilla Firefox and has loads of tie ins with myspace, flickr, blogger, and facebook… and it looks pretty good as well. Also the other big names are Camino and Opera. Safari is alright but I am using Firefox 3.0 now and it is my main browser.

@iwamoto – perhaps he didn’t know what a Mac is? :)

iwamoto's avatar

WebKit
Has the proven best rendering engine of all browsers in the world. And it’s really just safari with a different engine.

Any recommendations for iCab? I saw it mentioned in Wikipedia once but didn’t know if anyone uses it. It is said to be very old. Anyone???

swimmindude2496's avatar

Never mind what I said about iCab. I looked it up and you have to pay for it. So I am not using it.

iwamoto's avatar

why not just use safari ? i mean, the whole mac philosophy is that it’s great right out of the box, so why replace the browser ?

swimmindude2496's avatar

Well you replaced Safari. what are you telling me that for?

iwamoto's avatar

i didn’t, webkit is the engine of safari, i’m helping enhance the engine by reporting bugs

swimmindude2496's avatar

O well ok. I am downloading all the different browsers so I can see which is the overall best.
