What does "I love to laugh" mean?
I see this on various dating/singles sites. Just about 100% of the time these are written by women – I don’t think I have ever seen that phrase written by a guy (but to be fair, I don’t usually read profiles from guys).
So what does it mean?
That she has a reputation as a crabby bitch and she wants to dispense with that from the start?
That she moonlights as a standup comedian or a clown?
That she’s an airhead and is incapable of deep understanding?
I’m serious in this question: when some describes themselves with the phrase “I love to laugh” – what is the message?

Probably that she’s one of those fat but happy gals, laughing massively over the top at almost anything.
She’s likes to be amused to the point of laughing. You’d probably need to have a good sense of humor.
She seeks out laughter and is looking for someone with a sense of humor. Probably she tries not to take life too seriously; able to laugh when crazy things happen.
Huh never heard of this. I love to laugh too now that I think about it. Unless its that fake forced laugh.
I like the belly laughs that just roll out. It feels good, probably triggers the release of serotonin or endorphins. A feel good thing. I am getting better but I don’t do it with a lot of people. Actually even though I am laughing more these days, I often laugh more at myself then others.
I would never consider being with a person if we didn’t get each others humor. Or just didn’t find it funny. There is something sexy and bonding about making each other seriously laugh. A connection and a couple that can laugh together can start arguing with each other and end up giggling.
But maybe I am way off base, I have never ever typed those words until today.
That she has a good sense of humor, and she loves to laugh.
It’s the Internet dating equivalent of “long walks on the beach,” I think…
Ha! I love to laugh at such insipid, stupid, puerile statements as, “I love to laugh.”
It is code for, “I like to get high and get the giggles and laugh at any and everything.” She’s a stoner. heeheeheeehahahalolhaheelollmao
Sometimes it just means “I’m tired of crying.”
I am compensating for an un-reconciled source of frustration or anxiety.
I believe it is the new version of having a pretty face.
It doesn’t mean anything. It’s just another phrase tacked on to the profile in the hopes of finding any guy in the world that isn’t me.
It means, “I love to laugh.”
Means she doesn’t want to end up with a wet blanket. Mr. Doom and gloom, mr. I’m so tight with my money that I check my banking account every hour, Mr. I don’t do parks or believe in any recreational fun or Mr. if I take you out on a date and you leave me then I must kill myself. She doesn’t want any of those guys. She wants a fun seeking guy who doesn’t take life like its a college final exam a expects the girl he dates to see it the same way.
I love to laugh—the first time I have ever said those words had to type it—
Doesn’t everyone love to laugh? It seems kind of…redundant to say so. My best guess is that they’re looking for someone with a good sense of humor, who isn’t a stick-in-the-mud.
Similar to “I love to breathe.”
Oh, that’s a riot, @gailcalled.
I’m going to have to update my POF profile immediately, using that line.
