I don’t think it’s necessarily bad not to use conditioner – however I know that if I didn’t, my hair would go like straw, I just couldn’t brush it! Everyone’s hair is different, so if you can get away without it then good for you :) I think if you’re heat styling your hair afterwards though, it’s a good idea to use some kind of protective conditioner or oil so that you don’t toast yourself!
That depends entirely on your hair and what type of shampoo you’re using. For me, I have naturally dry hair and many shampoos strip what little natural moisture that I have away in their cleaning efforts, so yes it would be bad for me to skip the conditioner. But for you, who knows? We need more details to really help you out.
my hair’s short and I straighten it everyday. it’s wavy/curly.
I want to not use conditioner when I leave it curly so it has more waves.
If you are happy with the way it looks and feels when you don’t use conditioner, then don’t! As long as your shampoo isn’t stripping your hair of it’s natural moisture and oils and you’re not apply heat directly to unconditioned hair, then you’re probably not doing any damage. If you start to notice split ends or dry wispy hair, then you should try a different shampoo (maybe one with natural moisturizers and/or vitamin E)
Otherwise, sounds like you’re doing just fine
I only use conditioner 1–2 times a week, even though I shampoo every day. My hair is so fine and straight that too much conditioner would make it too flat and dull.
actually, using shampoo everyday is bad for your hair
My hair is fine. I need conditioner so it does not tangle, but I don’t want the weight or the oil so I put it on, and then immediately rinse it off rather than letting it sit on my hair.
The air’s kinda dry here…If you don’t use conditioner, folks will wonder if you mistook a wall socket for a keyhole. I use it, but I don’t leave it in. The directions say to, but it just feels icky to me.
I don’t think it’s bad. Everybody’s hair is different. Some people don’t really need to use it and others need it to tame their hair or they will scare people walking down the street.
