How do I remove jobs on my Facebook that Facebook has added without my permission?

Facebook added jobs I’ve had and one that I never had which is a direct competition of my place of business right now. I’ve gone in and edited and deleted but it won’t delete. I’m furious. Where did they get the information anyway? I have never added my jobs. Did they get into my computer and steal my resume? I have tried to contact them, but I’m sure that won’t work.
Any suggestions?

Try this:
Click the little pencil that appears when you hover over the top right corner of your “About” box (to the top left of your profile, under your picture). Click “Update info”. Then each of your jobs should appear for you to edit – I just removed a spurious one by clicking the little “x” next to it.
Facebook then decided (because I had no jobs listed) that my “About” section was woefully incomplete, so it gave me a bunch of things to add info about (music I’ve listened to, movies I’ve watched, etc.). I clicked “Skip” on all of those, and it returned my profile without the spurious “job” that I never had. I don’t know why it has been randomly adding these – possibly to draw your attention to filling out more profile details – but yes, it’s annoying.
@glacial Thanks. I think that worked. I didn’t notice all the other junk they put on my page which I hopefully deleted also. Why can’t they leave it alone? It wasn’t broke. It didn’t need fixed.
@chyna I totally agree with you!
I just went through all my privacy settings one-by-one over the past couple days to ensure they’re right. I try to do this a few times a year—especially when they change formats, such as adding the graphical search or whatever it is they just started.
