Asked by elbanditoroso (33550points) July 21st, 2013

a) Will my kids be rich as long as they live? How much insurance does Six Flags have, anyway?

b) Would I rather die or me handicapped for the rest of my life?

c) Is there a god who will save me? If so, where the heck is he?

d) why did I decide to go to the amusement park today?

e) Did I put my sex toys back in the dresser drawer when I woke up this morning?

f) How did my ex-husband manage to rig this?

J. Gosh Dagnabbit, shoulda stayed home to have sex with my brother billy bob instead.

If my kids were on the ride with me, as hers were, my last thought would be that I hope they are safe.

K. Fuck Zimmerman.

Probably use that well worn cliche that life has been a roller coaster.

None of the above, just a simple ” Oh shit, I’m so dead!” lol
I wouldn’t want to survive as a quadraplegic, no thanks, I’ve already decided if I become housebound in my old age with nothing to do but sit in a recliner and watch TV and spy on the neighbors I am going to kill myself. Seriously!

Same as @GoldieAV16 with the additional hope that my child would not be able to see my fall/death.

I would be worried about my kids seeing me fall.
I also don’t think that she HAD much time to think. I’m sure it all happened really fast.
The worst part is that she knew she wasn’t locked in properly and nobody would listen to her.
It was totally avoidable and I hope her family sues the shit out of Six Flags!

There’s my Debbie Downer answer for the day.

You guys are funny!

I can only imagine that I wouldn’t have any real thoughts. I’d just be in a numbed state of shock and not quite comprehending my situation. I’m also guessing that the trip to the ground would happen in slow-motion and seem to take forever.

“Shoulda gone to specsavers.”

“This is gonna hurt.”

Why do people think it’s so hilarious that an innocent woman died such a horrific death? All over the internet, there are jokes on par with those told by an elementary school class clown.

In addition, there are countless racist and xenophobic remarks (“She survived swimming across the Rio Grand, but she couldn’t ride on a roller coaster?” and “Who’ll take care of her 12 illegitimate children now?”) Is anyone familiar with her family background? She had a Latino last name, but that could have been her married name, or she might be a 3rd or 4th generation American. I’m about ¼ Irish, and my maiden name happened to be Irish. If I’d had the same accident, would people have written, “The drunken Mick was probably too hammered to hold on”?

There have also been comments about her body (“Is the ground ok, after that fat slob landed on it?” “She was so fat, she broke the seatbelt.”). Has anybody seen a photograph of this woman and, thus, even know her body size?

Dutchess_III's avatar

No thoughts. Just terror.

elbanditoroso's avatar

@SadieMartinPaul – first off, she can’t hear me and she will not be personally insulted by what i say.

Second, I didn’t cause the accident, nor did I in any way benefit from it. I am an observer of an event that already took place. It is in the past.

Third, and most important, why the hell NOT make light of it? Are we so into political correctness and so-called proper speech that we have to censor our own thoughts to keep the political correctness police happy?

What respect does anyone owe her and her family?

Dutchess_III's avatar

I’m with @SadieMartinPaul on this one. It’s not a matter of political correctness, it’s a matter of common decency.

elbanditoroso's avatar

@Dutchess_III – decency towards what or who?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Just human decency. Some consideration for the people whose lives were devastated by the accident. No, they’ll never hear people here turning it into a joke, but it is just in such poor taste.

I did choose to answer Fuck Zimmerman. Worth it.
