[NSFW] If you were going to be on the TV show Naked and Afraid, how would you groom?

Asked by gorillapaws (30865points) July 23rd, 2013

Participants on the show Naked and Afraid bear it all (although they blur out the frontal nudity) in front of total a total stranger of the opposite sex and survive in the wild for 21 days—picture Survivorman crossed with a nude Wife Swap.

So if you were going to participate, would you keep your pubic hair bald, groomed or bushy/all-natural? Remember, the nudity is blurred out, but there is a stranger of the opposite sex there, plus a film crew (although they might release a fully-uncut version at some point too). I could see how being natural would have it’s advantages, but it also could trap a lot of dirt and bugs/lice too and might increase risks of infection.

People had wild pubes for millennia before some porn stars decided to shave in the 90s for visual effect. I’d keep it just as it is, wild and natural. And it makes even more sense for a woman, why deal with ingrown hair once you’re out in the wild?

Frankly, a woman who hasn’t shaved is damn exciting to me.

If I’m trying to survive in the wilderness for three weeks, trimming my pubes is going to be absolutely the lowest of my priorities.

Out of curiosity I torrented this show. I am halfway into the second episode. It is the fakeist reality show I have ever seen.

And I have seen Siberia.

@johnpowell Siberia is supposed to be fakey! lol

I would be on the show as I am in real life. Sans pubes.

I hate to link to TheDailyMail but Ed Stafford did 60 days on a island with no clothes. He struggled and lost teeth. Really, it is a three part show. If you can watch it you should. It shows you how fake shit like Survivor are.

The guy is like a hardcore soldier and got completely destroyed.

Well I think we should match each other at least. They better get me this girl.

I don’t usually trim my head hair (except for occasional split ends, etc), and minimally trim my facial hair (only because the wife insists). So why would I worry about any other natural hair that grows. If they want natural, I would be natural. Any trimming that would happen would be for survival purposes.
