Band on the Run is an excellent song. The Patio Lanterns site wouldn’t open up in the US.
Fluther, actually make that all people around me.
@Adirondackwannabe Kim Mitchell (Patio Lanterns) is from my hometown. He was popular in the late 80’s! Haha
Hockey hair and mullets abound!
All We Are
Here’s to hockey hair, mullets, and missing teeth!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha!!!! National Treasure. ;-)
That is some seriously bad hair. :)
Here’s a better representation of Canada.
I love Neil. Bring on the flannel.
The little wrinkle under my husband’s right eye. I am completely serious.
I’d have to agree with @ucme about fluther. GA.
Funny though, right now I can think of more things I hate that other people don’t understand. LOL.
Fluther and Game of Thrones.
Geese.
My ex MIL used to say to me ” I just don’t understand WHY you want to have geese as pets.”
After about the 14th time she made this repetitive statement that I had answered numerous times, I turned to her and said..” Well… I don’t understand WHY you collect Mickey Mouse memorabilia!” lol
That shut her up. Fuck….nobody needs to “understand” others likes, dislikes, and preferences and passions. Pffft!
Animals. I have a friend who says I border on the eccentric.
@marinelife Eccentric ois GOOD! Better than the vast majority that have the passion and personality of a loaf of bread. Usually crusty sourdough. lol
Here’s another one: coriander (cilantro, for the non- Indians and Brits here). I’ve had numerous people tell me it tastes like dish soap or something. But I adore the chlorophyll smell/taste, and the fresh contrast it brings to spicy food. I could face plant into an entire bunch and eat the whole thing.
Speed. I love driving fast.
@bookish1 Count me as one of the people who think it tastes like soap, but chacun a son gout.
@bookish1 It does taste like dish soap, but since I am married to a Mexican I can tolerate it now. My husband smells me cutting it for a dish and it is like heaven to him. If I am cooking I leave mine sans cilantro and just add it to his.
@marinelife & @JLeslie : So when is the last time you have tasted dish soap? ;) I think it is just a cultural thing. We often like what we have been taught to like, what we have been introduced to at an early age.
@bookish1 Smell has a lot to do with taste, I think that is probably what most of the “taste” is. But, I certainly have eaten something that was in a glass or cooked in a pot not rinsed out well and had a soapy taste.
Books & animals. I could live in the woods with those and be perfectly content I believe. :) That’s one of the reasons, this site is so interesting to me, you all are so different.
Life. To me it doesn’t matter ow large or small it is, I respect all living organisms.
I hate when I’ll be having a conversation with someone about how they’re so environmentally conscious and care about the planet and then mid convo they just flick their cigarette off into the grass or something WHEN WE’RE STANDING NEXT TO A BLOODY ASH TRAY! Makes me want to just back hand them and tell them to stfu and go grab their filthy butt.
@bookish1 LOVE cilantro. I have so much of it growing in my garden right now. It’s hard for me to actually cook with it though since every time I’m outside I’m just eating handfuls of it :P
@bookish1 Someone was telling me this weekend that some people have a gene that makes cilantro taste like soap to them!! I am not in that camp fortunately.
@janbb that’s crazy but I guess it makes sense why so many people I know can’t stand the taste. I just think it tastes so incredibly fresh.
Rocks. General Hospital. I can’t believe I’m even admitting this! Solitude. Sunbathing. Askville. I don’t even get that one!

@picante With a name like “picante” how could they not get that?
I might have to run out and have my real name changed to support the image. Might as well make my last name “Moet-Chandon” just to clear up any confusion on the champagne issue, too.
Now you’re cooking – and drinking!
him (someone who will never be able to return my love)...
Fluther. Vikings. Xena. Shane Koyczan. My hatchet.
@uberbatman: So then… were you excited by all the announcements at SD Comic Con?
Love isn’t the right word, but I’m fascinated by spiders. A lot of people feel the opposite, but that’s their problem.
p.s. I do not allow them in the house.
80’s hair bands. I’m sorry, but there is nothing hotter than a guy with long hair and makeup.
This man is yummy!
Sharknado and Steve Sanders.
@Brian1946 I love Kiss.
I prefer them after the makeup came off, however. Hot in the Shade is one of my all time fave cd’s.
Reason To Live and I Still Love You are my 2 fave songs by them.
@Katniss You and my dad would get along swimmingly. He and my uncle (both of whom have longer hair than I) have their very own garage band in which they cover 80’s rock and roll bands like KISS and the like. I don’t get it, but I hear they’re pretty damn good. Just sounds like noise to me.

@AshLeigh People don’t understand your love for Venice? That answer is very surprising to me.
@JLeslie, it’s got such interesting history. I don’t know a lot of people who are interested in history, so they don’t understand why I’m so in love with Venice.
Aside from the history all the waterways are fantastic. Plus, it’s Italy! The food is amazing. Only negatives are the tons of tourists and the birds that fill some of the squares.
Have these haters you speak of been to Venice?
No, but neither have I. I fell in love with the history. I want to go one day :)
@cookieman! Lucky!
Lighthouses. I collect anything lighthouse related (pictures, ornaments etc), I just love them.
Jonah Hill, I want to marry him! lol
@naynay86 Jonah Hill is adorable. He’s also funny as hell!!
I have a Seth Rogan thing that people don’t get. lol
@Katniss i agree! lol…i do like seth rogen as well, but jonah is my #1! lol
Raccoons and possums, Tanning beds, Twilight.
@Valerie111 I understand your love of Twilight! lol
@naynay86 Do you prefer Superbad Jonah Hill or 21 Jump Street Jonah Hill? I think he looks better with the extra weight.
ummmm…hard to say…i love him either way lol..however I am ecstatic that they are making a 22 jump street!!!
Old movies from the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s.
