I love you @Mama_Cakes!!
I’m going to go with Painkiller on this one.
Had you posted the video for Fear of the Dark or When the Wild Wind Blows, I would have gone with Maiden.
I’m more of an Iron Maiden fan, but of those two songs, I prefer Painkiller.
Links are a pain in the arse on this phone, so…
Maiden. Because Paul Di’Anno, and Powerslave, and Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and Remember Tomorrow, and so very many years of awesome.
I mean, yeah, Priest… But Maiden has my heart.
Cradle of Filth, bro basket.
But in this case, I’ll pick Iron Maiden. I always thought that they sounded a bit like Viking Metal. Which is, of course, awesome.
Interesting. I’ll take Iron Maiden in this one. The guitar riffs are a little smoother and more detailed.
Priest just made a fucking awful din, where Maiden crafted great songs & belted out cracking tunes…Zeppelin own all their arses though.
I’ve never been a fan of Led Zepplin. People always look at me like I’ve sprouted a second head when I say that. I just cannot get into them at all.
Saw Maiden last summer. Dickinson still has the pipes.
@Mama_Cakes I wanted to get tickets for my son when they were in Detroit. Maiden is his favorite band. Sadly it just wasn’t in the budget at the time tickets were on sale.
I saw Iron Maiden in 1985. Although it doesn’t do anything for me these days, I recall thoroughly enjoying the show – including the ridiculous huge “Eddie” thing they had on stage.
I’m a huge Maiden fan, but there is no better live album than Unleashed in the East.
And Slayer above all.
Slayer!!!!!!! Raining Blood, baybee!!
Overall I prefer Iron Maiden (provided it involves Bruce Dickinson) but Run to the Hills was never one of my favourites.
I’m with @Katniss, maiden. I’m hoping they’ll come to Rocklahoma next year!
