Have you ever felt physically ill at the thought of logging onto Fluther?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) July 27th, 2013

You sit down with some time to kill and you boot up and go to log into Fluther, but almost instantly you get sick to your stomach, a raging headache or both at the same time, has it ever happened to you?

No. Why would you partake if that’s the effect it has on you? I typically do not volunteer for unpleasant experiences.

You mean like physically getting sick because of the site’s colors, or the monitor or something? Or are you saying sometimes the content and people here make you sick?

Anyways, no. Like @syz above me says, if the community here was so bad in my eyes that it literally made me sick to come on here, then, I wouldn’t. the hell do you think I left AssBag for lol

I agree with the above answers. Why would you be here if that occurred even once?

ucme's avatar

Only when picturing some of you buggers naked…make it go away!

Berserker's avatar

@ucme Oh so that’s how you see us. XD

@Symbeline Not really no, but it seemed a fun fit to answer that way so…may I just say you have exceptional titties m’dear XD

I never log out, but I always eagerly look forward to clicking on Fluther several times a day.

marinelife's avatar

Never. If I did, I would not log on.

Yes, when I was watching YouTube and Netflix 23 hours a day, 9 months ago.

Have you ever ate a hotdog, burger, steak, etc and got an upset stomach? If you did, did you swear off ever eating those foods again? You always think it will not happen the next time or in the future.

@Symbeline Or are you saying sometimes the content and people here make you sick?
I know it is not the machine; I can shop Amazon for hours and no ill effects. I would not say the people here make me sick; frankly some are good for a belly chuckle more than not. I have never really thought if it is the content, or lack thereof, which would cause it. But it is a theory I shall explore in the future. I just noticed in a general sense there are times I go to logon, or click on and I just get hit by a migraine, or sour stomach.

(disclaimer: That is NOT to be taken as confirmation of any type aversion, or animosity I have towards gay people, atheist, zombie or vampire aficionados, obese people, who may be on Fluther)

There might be a few people I believe have nitwit thinking but that don’t mean I hate running into them on Fluther, I have no need to name names, those who feel convicted I am sure will rear their heads and make some smart-alecky quip, but generally I find no one here repugnant as to make me sick looking in.

(ilogging)

What does “nitwit thinking” mean”

ragingloli's avatar

@gailcalled
anything that he disagrees with.

josie's avatar

No. And if it happened, as above, I would not log in. Who would for that matter?

tinyfaery's avatar

No. I never log out.

There were a few times when I’ve dreaded looking at certain responses, but this was a more common occurance on sodahead than here for me. There were times I didn’t even bother to view the responses and just stopped following certain questions, and this was probably for the better. I try to break the monotony of fluther sometimes by either spending less time on my computer, or taking part in discussions on other sites.

livelaughlove21's avatar

I used to feel a nervous/nauseous feeling when logging on if I had recently posted a question that pissed someone off or if someone was making it their daily goal to insult me or make me feel like an idiot. I was nervous to read their response.

It’s funny to think of that silliness now, because I quickly learned to take nothing on Fluther to heart (though certain jellies insist that I get worked up about things when, in reality, I couldn’t care less – I just enjoy arguing). In fact, I rarely give a shit what people here think of me.

Whoa, wait… we’re allowed to log OUT?!?!

chyna's avatar

@cookieman Yes, you can log out anytime you want, but you can never leave.

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

@ragingloli @gailcalled anything that he disagrees with.
Paleeeeeese, there have been a good many things I have not agreed with but they were at least plausible or had some teeth to it. There are truly stuff that are so debased, or dim they can only be called nit-wit thinking, and that is being kind.

@cookieman Whoa, wait… we’re allowed to log OUT?!?!
Psst….. Not really, there is only two ways off Fluther; and orange jumpsuit or a toe tag, pick your poison. ;-)

gailcalled's avatar

^^^ I still do not understand what “debased” or “dim stuff” means. And I also don’t understand what being kind has to do with verbal clarity or linguistic precision. If your readers don’t understand what you are saying, then it is your responsibility to be clearer and not the reader’s to re-invent language.

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

^ I have little time to hunt down the stuff, but I will let it ripen on the vine and get back to you on that.

If your readers don’t understand what you are saying, then it is your responsibility to be clearer and not the reader’s to re-invent language.
When I present what I mean straight from the can not the nipple, or sippy-cup, the question doesn’t get to see the light of day; and not because it was misspelled. If it is not totally clear it is because I had to doctor the words used and how to not offend those with thin skin, faint hearts etc.

That @chyna wanker is lying and won’t let me log out, so I wouldn’t know.

Oh man, this dude is still around. lol.

You do realize that you’re addressing this to the originator of

“fact from fiction truth from diction”

or have you managed to blissfully forget that prime example of reinvention of language ?

:D

Ahhh how soon they forget.

gailcalled's avatar

^^^ I have not, blissfully or otherwise, forgotten. Every prolix, convoluted and infelicitious sentence he writes is a reminder..

Buttonstc's avatar

But I bet you wish you could.

On the contrary, when I feel sick it soothes me somehow. I feel as if I am not alone.
