Why is Savannah eating diapers and how do we stop her?
Pretty sure this hasn’t been asked before! My daughter has twins, a boy and a girl. Savannah has taken to eating diapers. (Let me know when you’ve finished laughing and can read the rest of this!) Corrie has to be careful to keep the diapers out of her reach, even the used ones, or she’ll just mow down. I suggested giving her a wash cloth to chew on. She said she did, but Savannah just throws it aside and goes after the diaper bag.
Today she took the trash out. Was gone for about 10 seconds and when she got back her 8 year old son said, “Mom! I can’t get Savannah off Kale!” Yeah, she was chewing the side of his diaper, plus she’d gotten her hand in his diaper and had a death grip on his penis. He was not a happy camper.
What the hell are we supposed to do???

My side hurts from the severity of this issue! I can’t stop laughing!
Take two pieces of cloth and wrap them around each of her hands, then duct tape them so she can’t take them off.

Although unlikely, a medical condition called pica can cause people to eat things that are not food. It can be a symptom of iron deficiency, unlikely in infants, or a chemical imbalance. Since she is so young it is more likely she just likes putting things in her mouth.
@mambo Good answer! I’m having a hard time being serious about this too! I texted my daughter tonight and said “I am so very worried about the diaper eating penis grabbing problem that I Cant. Stop. Laughing.”!
She told me to shut up! I said “OK! But I can’t wait for the family dinner in the year 2033!”

At least it wasn’t penis eating and diaper grabbing. Oh god, I have a feeling that was severely inappropriate but I’m going to post it anyway.
These are soiled or wet diapers? Or clean ones? Do they have to be on the boy? Could a diaper made into a kind of doll be substituted? It does make for a hilarious picture, but still, it is a problem to be dealt with.

How about distracting her with something more interesting than wash cloths? Paper, for example? Has to be healthier than diapers…
there are chemicals in diapers that can cause chemical burn…...but grabbng it right off the baby…....put her in a plastic bubble.
